  1. On a side note, I think Pre-Match threads are completely pointless anyways, there are usually about 3 for each match and it consists of a few decently lengthed posts and then 5 pages of people just predicting the formation and team line up (often the same as other members). It's really boring to look at and there's nothing to read or really 'discuss' That's a fair point. Often, the pre-match stuff is just random formations and the odd person choosing 12 players or whatever... Yeah, that being the point. If they're not in the pre-match thread, they'll be in various other threads. Chill. I was just wondering how letting one thread roll for the duration compared to having 3 separate ones. Personally I couldn't give a shit but some people had genuine objections then I'd like to hear them, either way - for or against. Chill? I am chilled, i'm just saying - that's probably how it would be.

  3. Sam was trying something different out yesterday, obviously. And failed. Going off what various people have said to me, who went to the match, new positions were being tried out against a low-profile team, that's all. You'd think that Allardyce would see that the system against Carlisle isn't a good idea and will revert back to the 4-4-2 that hammered Hartlepool. Was hoping we might see a glimpse of the 4-5-1 at some point in pre-season, but i don't think we've got enough players.
  4. On average, a Premier League game consisted of a 5-page pre-match thread, a 20-page match thread, and a 12-page post match thread. Meaning one uber-thread would consist of around 35 pages. What's the point? It was fine how it was. If it isn't broken, don't fix it.
  5. 6 weeks best case scenario tbh. Wouldn't want to predict when he'll be back. Ace.

Peter Ramage with his top off was enough for me, ta.
  7. I'm sure the screw was already in but needed tightened. Aye. Delayed his comeback by a month or so i think? Can remember him being pencilled in for that FA Cup game at Chelsea?

Plain and simply - just to annoy you, Lucas. Revenge for having a fit girlfriend.
  9. Owen broke the fifth. This is worrying mind http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/health_and_fitness/4283136.stm Owen ended up having a pin/screw inserted iirc which made his comeback take even longer. Aye. Think it was delayed aswell? Screw loose or something. Actually no, that was the NUFC fans. Badum tish.
  10. Depends how bad the break/fracture is and also depends how which metatarsal. Obviously. Was just outlining the potential that the injury had. EDIT: See post above.
  11. To be fair, Owen was fine and just a bit un-arsed, and was just rehabilitating for the World Cup.
  12. Owen's broken metatarsal kept him out for 5 months... Or am i barking up the completely wrong tree?
  13. For a change, a very level-headed and realistic view on the Dyer situation, Bobyule. Good post. I said pretty much the same thing the other day, we've got a lot to thank him for after last season, people don't quite appreciate the impact he actually made.
  14. whats also true is that we really shouldn't let anybody leave.. not until we have few players more and simply a bigger squad.. Certainly true. Can't be forcing so many more replacements when we're already stuttering on the current ones.
  15. All fair points, and admittedly i've felt the same thing. I've certainly been one to rave about the 'new era', and Dyer is one of those players that fits into the category of 'should boots' in that respect - as you've outlined. Dunno though, that might be a bit too sentimental and unrealistic. Dyer's still a good player and i still feel that if we want a strong squad, it's the likes of him who we should be hanging onto...
  16. Curbishley knows Parker first hand man. Obviously rates him in any case, maybe we wasted him ?? who knows Aye fair point. Parker is understandable; Parker and Dyer is an obscure couple of signings, though, for what would inevitabley stretch to a transfer fee over £10m...
  17. And that Jon has a full-time job, it being his responsibility to put food on the table, and lives about 200 miles away. Grow a brain, Kev.
  18. And that he wouldn't be afraid to boot him, which is good. I'd rather Dyer stayed - providing he wants to be here - but if he wants out he should be booted. The likes of Roeder would have tried to keep him regardless. No messin' with Big Sam!
  19. On another note, if West Ham come out of the transfer window having signed Parker and Dyer - it's proof that their scouting department is fucking unadulterated shite.
  20. Aye, we've read the thread n'all. i mean im ITK and have heard he wants to leave I know mate.
  21. A better example would have been the peddling of Titus. The difference between the two is that Dyer's actually a decent player.
