  1. Would take Martins vs Spurs over that any day of the week.
  2. Not against getting players on trial... But left-back is our shittest area of the team and for yonks now we've been filling the position with shitty, nothingy, crappy, worthless wing-backs who give either very little, or shit all in return. If there's one area we need to sort out by spending money and getting someone proven in, it's left-back. How come we can do that with strikers and wingers, yet not defenders? I won't make a confirmed opinion on this bloke, but i'm willing to confidently predict that he's nowhere near the standard we're looking for. That's merely going by his track record, his age, his squat experience in this league, and the fact that he can't get a game at Olympiakos. But i'm reserving judgement.
  3. 5. And i'm stil yet to believe that Damien Duff is a Newcastle player. Some blonde Irish bloke whose been utter s*** - aye - i recognise him. If Duff is starting ahead of N'Zogbia week-in, week-out next season - then Roeder wants f****** shot. I would play Duff ahead of N'Zogbia to be honest. N'zogbia has been pretty shit this season as well. The fact that neither have had a consistent run in the team due to injury hasnt helped either of them. Duff's played like 30 games. I think N'Zogbia has had two starts on the bounce maybe twice this season. There's no fucking wonder Zog hasn't picked up the pace. He's hardly played.
  4. this is a joke - right? Not sure mate.

  6. Didn't think you could speak to players in your own league about signing pre-contracts? If he is Emre's replacement then we are going to struggle to create much! Roeder never uses Emre as an attacking midfielder anyway so it won't make much difference.

    CL Quarter finals

Would rather Liverpool won the CL than Spurs win the UC.
  8. Butt won't go. If he were to join, Sidwell would be Emre's 'replacement'.
  9. Would be interested in the following: Players omitted due to following reasons: / Not good enough / Good players but unlikely to work here / Would never come here Great research, Ritchie.
  10. add Javier Saviola to that, wouldn't really want Viduka Susceptible to flopping - and most likely would do here. Viduka's a proven goalscorer in this league, and is just what we need in terms of physical presence on the pitch.
  11. Ben Haim, Distin, Sidwell and Viduka would be four players i'd look to make targets.
  12. Would definitely like to see more from him towards the end of the season, admittedly. Don't get me wrong - it's not as if i watch reserve or youth games - but he sounds like a class act. His goalscoring record is second to none, and he's done it at both levels now. I know, Chopra did aswell, but according to what others have said on here, it appears that he's got more Premier League qualities. I'd like to see more from him, but not ten minute appearances here and there, because he won't gain anything from it and nor will we. Give him a start during one of the last games, when there's definitely no danger.
  13. (Not especially disagreeing with you, btw... just surprised)
  14. That was definitely mine.
  15. Given Solano --- Taylor --- Onyewu --- Babayaro Milner --- Emre --- Butt --- N'Zogbia Martins --- Dyer ... I regard that as our best possible team when everybody is fit (excluding Owen and Shola). And it's available to him. Not expecting it at all, though.
  16. Because i'm realistic? Well done, you're the bestest fan in the world. You're just a smart arse mate. Sick of seeing you just write people's posts off with simple, arsey, one-liners. Just ain't good to read. Oh, so now you're the post police? Wind your neck in mate. I don't like some of the drivel you post, but i don't go round crying like a smacked bitch about it. Post police, not quite. I just said you were boring. Smacked bitch, nah. I said you were boring. Two things which i stand by.
  17. 1. Alan Shearer. Of my time supporting Newcastle United, Shearer is all i have known. I was old enough only by the age of six, really, to understand the game properly - and i was six in 1997. Shearer has been my God. The ultimate goalscorer and simply one of the very, very best. 2. Nolberto Solano. Nobby is definitely one of my all-time favourites; i thought he was great right from the very off. He was just a bit different, the first ever Peruvian. I don't think there has been a more clever player in the squad for the last ten years, than Nobby Solano. And even though his legs have gone a bit, he's still doing a crucial job for us today. Love the guy. Plus - he loves the club to pieces. 3. Gary Speed. Speed was one of the key factors of our uprising under Bobby. He was a leader, one of the veterans, and he just held the team together. He'd also pop up with a goal or two - he had a great left foot and was a cracking headerer of the ball. You could see that the midfield just fell apart when Speed left - he should never have gone.

  19. Would be great to see it happen, but just can't see it myself.
