  1. Immensely frustrating. Playing well but not moving the ball quickly enough at Forest's end of the pitch. The couple times we've shared a quick pass or two, we've come close, but there hasn't been enough of that. Tonali might help where that's concerned. Goal was a fucking gift. Ref wrapped it and we put the bow on. Forest have nailed the counter-attack game with infuriating competence. Someone better than Elanga in there and they're probably two up.
  2. Should never have been in that situation but fuck knows what our plan was from that set piece. Dire.
  3. Newcastle United: Nick Pope; Tino Livramento, Fabian Schär, Dan Burn, Lewis Hall; Sean Longstaff, Bruno Guimarães, Joe Willock; Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak, Joelinton. 1-1: 1-2: 1-3:
  4. Could happen. Big 5-3 win yesterday against Hartlepool. 7600 in there yesterday, including a brilliant away following (1500). Attendances have never been so high - obviously accountable to the stadium move, but great to see interest so high anyway. There's only Southend and Oldham down there with similar numbers.
  5. I'd put Robson above him in the list of greats but was Howe the best appointment since Keegan in 1992? Just in terms of being exactly what we needed at that exact time? The turnaround under Robson was similar I suppose, though the situation was probably less desperate. Just feels like, in Howe's case, we just hit the nail square on the head in terms of what that squad needed: energy and professional standards.
  6. Wasn't he amazing in Ten Hag's first year?
  7. Just catching up on those fantastic two handball decisions from tonight. Great stuff, The Referee Show goes on. In all seriousness, the Merino one I'd be calling for if it was against my team but the Villa thing is ridiculous pedantry.
  8. Was that thing with the Leverkusen crowd there a show of support or a hammering?
  9. Must... not... be creative... nostalgia... too... LUCRATIVE!!
  10. Absolutely yes. The last time Ashley did anything vaguely progressive and/or built on momentum was January 2012 with the Cisse signing. The dreadful season that followed firmly put a fork in that ever happening again.
  11. Two flukes then... Deserved the win like.
  12. Incredible finale. Touch of fortune with the first finish but the second was a brilliant header.
  13. Think that photo is about a year old?
  14. Enjoying the FACR1 highlights on this inexplicably (but welcome) early MotD. With almost no exception, every non-league ground seemingly full to the brim. A glorious sight and a reminder of how important the 3pm blackout is.
  15. Bruno's long sleeves really help that joke of a shirt.
  16. Brilliant result there like! Still not got there myself yet, might make the trip if they get another home draw.
  17. So many are deserving of a display but it would be good to see Isak get some special recognition over the course of the season. He's been absolutely amazing for us really, as much a talisman as any other CF who's represented us in the modern era. I get you don't want to do too many in too short a space of time because it dilutes the effect. The Gordon one was particularly timely. Maybe if Isak ever gets in a bit of a rut it could be something to have to the sleeve.
  18. So many contributors to that and the other regular pods are extremely pretentious and/or condescending. I've been well out of the habit of listening to them for months now. They're all writers, at the end of the day, and their flair for the written word doesn't always translate seamlessly into the spoken one. It's rarely a true conversation; they're just taking turns to talk like they're reading from their articles.
