Terrible result for Wigan...Against 10 men for 80 min?
-
Think Wigan might go this year. Lot of tricky away games left.
-
Could do with a qpr win today or even a draw.
-
He'll be back somewhere in a couple of years.

The players we have we basically need a Dutch or French coach who is relatively young and won't make big transfer demands. Europe is full of these types who have grown up learing and studying the game the right way...Right through from interesting training regimes, cogent pass and move playing styles and cutting edge player pscychology.

Dunno about transform like, they weren't in the bottom three when they binned Adkins and gave us a real footballing lesson in November (after which we should have made the big decision). They had the most ridiculous opening run of fixtures but since then they've been pretty consistently good. Lovejoy Completely agree, Southampton have played great stuff all season the key differences i have noticed are as follows. 1. Press much better as a team 2. More organised defensively 3. Don't choke away loads of chances every game Seriously i have seen Southampton a lot this season and the amount of chances they were creating under Atkins and throwing away followed by stupid defending led to poor results by comparison. Obviously results have improved but i don't believe performances have been totally transformed. Have to disagree, the way they break NOW is scary. Teams shit it when 5-6 shift up the park as soon as they get posession. Also today Lambert played like a Michu clone. Early signs are that Pochettino is pretty slick.

More galling is that he doesn't speak any english and has no clue about the PL. What he does seem to have is tactical understanding of the game of football.
-
Only have to look how S'hampton whose team is inferior to ours in every way break when they get the ball. 5-6 players get ahead of the ball. We rarely attack with more than 2-3 players. This is down to the manager and the whole safety first/percentage outlook. Our football has been dismal for the vast majority of the time. I just don't think he really much more than the system he likes to stick to - sit deep and all that guff...

They aren't being allowed to play their natural game.

Pardew is pretty much anti-football. Can't put it any simpler than that.. Very, very rarely something of beauty happens on the pitch - maybe once or twice a game if that.
-
If we lose AND play percentage football tomorrow Pardageddon will be unleashed on here.
-
I have absolutely no doubts that there are dozens of very technical and savvy managers around europe gagging for a crack at the PL. Looking at our squad is even more encouragement.
-
The uplift with the new arrivals was because Pards hadn't had time to melt their minds with his signature claptrap. Now the virus has taken hold they have become like all the other players: Pardautomatons.

Think Qpr will beat wigan.
-
Really could do with Villa not winning today.

Football is simple. If there is no plan to play the game in their half of the pitch, you'll end up playing most of the game in your half.
-
If we actually had some 'football brains' in the boardroom there is no way they wouldn't make a change this summer. We have the players now that can play a cogent european type posesssion and tempo game. How do I know this? They've been playing it all their lives at other clubs and for their respective countries.

Fulham aren't so good away from home is what I mumble as the fear rises.
-
We've conceded 58 goals. That's nearly 2 goals a game in the PL.
-
Well Pards mainly practices press conference voodoo.

One of the best in Europe according to Pardew They are dog toffee, shame we couldn't give them a game. Not sure who to blame, depressing. Classic reaction. I get you're p*ssed off with the manner of the goals, anyone would be. But there's a natural tendency to think the opposition wasn't any good when you're blaming yourselves for a defeat. They weren't world beating, they weren't brilliant, but they were good. Their passing and movement was clearly superior and thus deserved to win the game. Despite that however the tie is far from over due to their very slack defending. But yes, can totally see why you'd be p*ssed off at how the goals came about. I watch them every week and don't rate them, I think a decent team would take them to the cleaners. In my opinion they are very average, bar a couple of stupid mistakes we could have been set tonight so yes I am frustrated. Benfica are basically rubbish. They'd struggle to finish in the top8 of the PL. We had almost complete chillax for the first 45min in their stadium. I still think they will collapse if we score early...Crying like babies and diving and holding their faces and the usual South American rigmarole. Benfica are a fraud in a league that is is championship level bar 2/3 sides. Could easily have been 3-3.
