  1. The table is a false postion we've got much harder games left than we've already played.
  2. Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson says Reds and England full-back Glen Johnson's performances this season have not been of international standard. Johnson, 26, has been struggling with a groin injury and will miss Saturday's league match at Stoke. "If he plays like the England right-back one would expect him to come back in when he's fit," said Hodgson. "But up to now he's not performed - very often at least - to the level I'd expect of him." Hodgson added: "You would have to ask him 'do you think you're playing at top form and are you playing like the best right-back in the country for your club?' We are still in a position in the league we are not totally happy with, so we need to keep this run going and see where it takes us Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard "If he says yes, obviously we will have to agree to differ and if he says no, then you'd have to ask the question 'why not?"'
  3. Should be a good open game today. 3-1
  4. Will be missed. Currently our most creative midfielder.
  5. You're right. It's clearly a crab's claw. It's restrained force. It's a dying art, from the mountains of Tibet and beyond...
  6. Nolan looked shot for the last 20min, should have come off really.
  7. We were total shit, B'burn came to spoil and we had no answers.
  8. Sticking to my early season prediction of 12th.
  9. The takeover will get a point after I assess the Jan window and if the turn in form carries on past the honeymoon period. IMO Hodgson's days are numbered and Comolli will be eyeing up a replacement at the end of the season.
  10. The team have now crossed the Rubicon. This is the defining victory of this season. Hughton can be truly proud of what happened on the pitch today.
  11. He can fuck off back where he came from then. The yanks are the only nation with less of an idea of what sports clubs are really about than we do, we've already gone too far down that route. Don't a lot of them change their support/alliegences after the draft or summink. Could be wrong.
  12. I don't really understand what that's supposed to mean. The really bad situation is on the pitch, and not much has changed there. The club wasn't in financial bother: the old owners were. And they ended up losing £140m. The situation was always such that the club was an asset (the only asset) of a company living on borrowed time, and it was always going to go down pretty much the way it did, because no-one was going to pay the premium H&J were asking, when they could save themselves over £100m by dealing with the bank and waiting till the deadline. I'm not so sure. There's a good likelihood they'll really bump ticket prices, which won't go down well, even if it's theoretically better for the club. And I worry that they'll get all arrogant and think they can do football better than anyone else, and come up with a load of useless crap that sets us back even further. I don't believe statistical analysis is anywhere near as useful in a fluid, low-scoring game like football as in a game composed entirely of set pieces like baseball. Rafa was big on his numbers, stats and probabilities, and I think this aspect of his approach is what hurt us in the Prem relative to the side's success in Europe. He'd choose more rounded or dependable players like Kuyt over more quixotic ones like Luis Garcia (God bless him), who can win you a game from nothing, and he squeezed too much of that creativity out of the side. And Rafa goes on to get cained at Inter.
  13. nah if liverpool win sunday then its a revival and 4-2 otherwise its as is. 5-1 if liverpool get mangled by chelsea That's the strength of it. I did give him a goal just for getting rid of Aquilani tbf.
  14. Should be a goal for me really, but I don't want to appear greedy.

  16. First sign that they are going the cheap route with youth development and all that guff. Personally I think his main job will be overlooking the transition from Hodgson to the next manager.
  17. Think he was one of their main scouts for a few years Was with Wenger at Monaco and then taken to the arse as Eur scout. Tricky one this, there are many permutations.
  18. The madder it sounds the more likely it is to happen.
  19. Taken from the BBC website Liverpool have appointed ex-Tottenham director of football Damien Comolli as their director of football strategy. The 38-year-old Frenchman was sacked by Spurs in October 2008 after three years at the club and later joined French outfit St Etienne as sporting director. He will begin work with Reds owner John Henry and boss Roy Hodgson immediately. "I am delighted to be joining Liverpool and look forward to working with John and Roy," said Comolli, who also spent seven seasons as a scout at Arsenal. "I think we all realise there is a big job ahead, but we all share the vision that John has for rebuilding the club and bringing back the success that the supporters deserve." Since succeeding Rafael Benitez as Liverpool manager last summer, Hodgson has endured a difficult start to life at Anfield. His side were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Northampton, won only one of the first eight Premier League matches this season and were in the relegation zone until Sunday's late victory at Bolton. "I am looking forward to working with Damien whom I have known for many years," said former Fulham boss Hodgson. "We are engaged in an exciting project here and he will bring a lot to the table. We all want to see moves to strengthen the squad and support player development over the next few years. "John Henry and I are totally united in delivering on that ambition." Henry's New England Sports Ventures (NESV) group completed a £300m takeover of Liverpool in October and the American indicated Comolli's appointment could be the first of several." On the surface it looks like a good appointment, don't really know that much about him apart from the fact he was an ace scout.
  20. He's interesting in a listening to your grandad talking about WW2 kind of way.
