  1. It's alright for the Swiss, nature of the country an all. Very pleased with Deridyok and Inler.
  2. Parky 1; Vicente del Bosque 0
  3. Hope that will put an end to all the Spain wanking.
  4. His situation, coupled with that of the Korean diaspora in Japan is... complex to say the least. Short version, he has a South Korean passport because his parents are nominally South Korean because they (or their parents) who had been living in Japan because they/their parents were brought there as laborers during the occupation chose "South" when we were divided after Independance. So despite being South Korean they have very little allegiance to South Korea in particular and most likely have never been there, which lead them to send him to a North Korean school in Japan. (because North Korea offers more support to its Japanese diaspora than South Korea, including offering free schooling, probably because they need the better PR.) Having attended a North Korean school from a young age, Jeong identifies himself as North Korean despite living in Japan all his life and having no intention of ever moving to North Korea, just like thousands of other Korean Diaspora in Japan who've attended North Korean schools do. I can understand the reaction to the national anthem. The "Jainichi" are a heavily marginalized minority in Japanese society and he's probably lived with a lot of discrimination his whole life. It was probably a combination sheer joy out of just being there + the feeling of achievement that he's finally in a position to sing the national anthem he learned as a schoolboy without anyone looking at him funny. Like I said, complex Now, I'm the last person to defend Jeong (or his parents') choice of nationality (YOU'VE GOT SOUTH KOREAN PASSPORTS YOU IDIOTS ,) but it's more complex than "he doesn't even live in North Korea! GLORY HUNTER WTF!!!" Excellent read.
  5. I guess he still has a career as a poster boy.
  6. Aye, they'd be half decent like. Think oldtype mentioned it on here recently, but People's Rooney and Park Chu-Young would be a great partnership. Would test most sides I reckon. NK and SK really give value in their matches. Watching Ivory Coast and Portugal strolling around is poor in comparison.
  7. What's gone wrong with Kaka?
  8. Imagine if Korea had a unifyied team.
  9. Felt for them. Brazil are a disgrace, gave no more than 50%.
  10. Still think 3-0. 63rd, 72nd and 77th minute. Hope I'm wrong like. Would be an amazing story if they could hold on. Hope they hold on. Brazilians look lazy, overpaid and showy. Haven't put a decent move together against a team most of whom are amateurs.

Nothing will happen unless the advertisers complain, then hell will be on.
  12. ...and staying out of the EU is the best thing you ever did, it means you get to keep your traditional fisihing grounds.
  13. I'd advise to lay heavy on Ghana beating Germany. I feel it in the bones cause somehow they will manage to still play us even if we top our group.
  14. Think they've changed it recently....Or summink. Here's the upshot though. With all of KZero's heroics it turns out Norway don't allow dual citinzenship nationals to play for Norway unless the resind the or give up the other passport. Mohammed Abdellaoue have both a Maroccan and Norwegian passport, and he represents us. That rule is old. Harmeet Singh is another. On that note, Marocco spent AGES trying to coerce Abdellaoue into playing for them, even offering him obscene amounts of money. But he decided to represent his home nation, and he gets too little respect for that in the Norwegian press tbh. Bugger! What about whaling then? 'Moa' was born in Norway though so he passes the Parky test at the first hurdle.
  15. They got rid of that rule last year, U21 caps no longer lock players anymore. Hence why Algeria have been able to exploit it so much. Yeah what he said.

Let's just say the man is a mystery wrapped in puzzle. He is a poet and a warrior, he bides his time on football pitches, but the day will come when he will strike but it will almost certainly go over the bar.
  18. At some point I hope Spain fuck up at an almighty level and put an end to all the wanking.
