  1. If Hughton is trying to get us to play like an old skool spurs we're fucked.
  2. Not really, just generally keeping the ball by playing to feet and getting players forward gradually. Thus, compressing the play and getting the wingers involved when possible and more than one or two of our lot in the box. And giving the opposition plenty of time to regroup. Hughton’s safety first approach may (or may not) be losing its effectiveness, but suddenly trying to play like Mexico would be a huge risk.
  3. His signings look good, we've bought a lot worse for more money in the past. Agreed.
  4. He couldn't have gone with slower players who want to hoof it, they were injured. The only option he had to change our starting line up that would have been negative was Ryan Taylor for Routledge or Simpson and that choice would have been stupid, even for him. We'll see his true managerial ability once Butt and Smith are free from injury, it will also be interesting to see what he does with Lovenkrands after last night, he should start instead of Best. Shit forgot about that.
  5. He's only gone and everything I was whining about. Well done CH. Early days, but the signings look to be decent as well.
  6. If he continues being positive that's all I can ask. Still not good enough for the PL imo.
  7. Nolan has been out of condition from the day he arrived here, whether he puts the effort in or not he's just too slow around the pitch. The same is true of Butt and Smith who are both players who's best days are behind them for one reason or another. Hughton is playing them because they are all disciplined and will defend resolutely even if they don't offer much offensively. Guthrie should have been the one to provide the drive but he hasn't held down a central position. He should have been given more opportunity to prove he can dominate the midfield battles, but when he has had the chance he hasn't given much indication that he's up to it. Seems a bit too slight for dominating material, got the odd good pass in him mind - unlike the rest. I think there still is time for him to develop into something a bit more mind.
  8. Saw enough CAUTION in the Leicster game to last me a lifetime and he just stood there perplexed and then made changes way too late. It might happen that we miss automatic promotion by 2 points, cause it's going to be close...We will lose more games as teams are less in awe of us than the start of the season and they've worked it all out...Hence Leicester continued to attack with 10 men cause they could see we were essentially toothless. Butt and Nolan basically have almost no movement and no ability to dicatate anything other than a pizza order on the phone. I'm astounded there are people in here who refuse to see that CH doesn't really have the mental and tactical tools to help us in the PL it is quite evident already, we are just scraping by at the minute....Sooner or later we'll lose 2 or 3 games close together and then the s*** will fly and he won't have the answers. I thought our strongest period of the game was last 10-15mins. It could have been because Leicester started to tire, but to me it seemed to be because we had taken Nolan off and put Pancrate on. Im not Pancrates biggest fan, and he was poor on the ball, but it changed Leicesters approach to the game. They had to take care of Pancrate who was making runs and confusing the defence. Before he came on they only really had Routledge to worry about. Agree pancake did well when he came on as he stretched the game when they were tired.

It sounds like you're really criticising the players more the Hughton. I hope he plays Guthrie in the middle now he has Routledge, that's pretty much all he can do to improve central midfield. I bet he starts Nolan and Butt against Cardiff and I also think they will beat us. Won't happen. I wouldn't put too much money on that if i was you. Hope not.

  12. It's not even about the PL though is it? We're getting routinely outplayed in the CCC. As Shak says if he can't do it now how in hell is he going to do it in a league that is light years ahead in terms of pace, power and technique??
  13. Pretty much this. There's no doubting there are major improvements needed (if we get promoted) but i think what we have a achieved deserves recognition and Hughton deserves credit. Credit is all well and good but if you can show me how being nice to CH will stop us getting relegated next year I'm all ears. You are treating as if it's a fact that Hughton will get us relegated next year? Even though we are not even promoted yet. In his first full season in charge his record is brilliant, the only thing that has been poor is the style of football. Why not see who he would bring in during the summer and then judge how we would perform in the premiership? I'm not confident at all that CH will attract the players we need. Our package is bad enough as it is, what might help is a proactive manager with a track record and a good knowledge base in the wider game...CH simply isn't that man.

  15. You need to take anger management class to have a meaningful life in the future. Can you describe long ball and short ball for me... First of all you come in here sayng we've all got low IQ's now you're saying people need anger management.
  16. This sort of post is laughable. It never seems to occur to fans that the reason ther club is playing s*** is because Hughton wants them to play a spoiling game in order to prevent the other team playing to their strengths. This inevetably leads to our play being disjointed. I expect to see a similar game plan on friday night because Cardiff have some dangerous players that first and foremost, have to be stopped. Oh! I get it now, we're playing a spoiling game against everybody.
