How about after promotion?
-
If we limit spend to what we can generate we'll come straight back down. As I warned last year, without a decent net spend trouble looms.
-
I know this board doesn't agree, but I think he will get a new manager in.
-
If you've got assests of 800m on paper any bank will lend you upto x2.5 that amount. So whether it is cash or not isn't an issue.
-
How much do you think he will spend on us this time round?
-
QPR supporter as a reaction to all the shit going on at his club. Love the broader observations about the game though.
-
"I take more pleasure in seeing Chelsea lose than I do in seeing QPR win at the moment. I sat through so many matches when we were absolute dog**** under the likes of Ray Harford and with people like Paul Bruce, Matthew Brazier and Mark Perry in the squad and I never felt like this. The club isn't ours anymore but moreso than that - football is just properly gash these days. I mean really gash. football generally. I hate nearly everything about it these days.... I hate the Prem and the myth that it is exciting this year. Man City breaking into the top four isn't exciting. They spent loads of money. It's no more exciting that Nameless **** getting to number 1 in the charts after winning the X-Factor. I hate the myth of Arsene's kids. Buying some French kid when he's 17, playing him in the League Cup and then selling him when he's 20 after about 3 appearances in the league is NOTHING SPECIAL. I hate hearing about Liverpool/Man Utd's debt but nothing ever happening about it. A club needs to go to the wall for the money thing to change but it doesn't happen. Why the **** are Charlton, Leeds and Southampton still in business? I hate Frank Lampard's stupid ****ing face. I hate that Joe Cole's tongue is never in his mouth, the downsy spacker. I hate John Terry being England captain when he's CLEARLY AN OAF. I hate young exciting wingers who have nothing but pace. Tony Scully had nothing but pace. I hate Harry ****ing Redknapp. And Jamie Redknapp. And Louise Redknapp.. And the Wii. I hate Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer. I hate Garth Crooks. I hate Garth Brooks a lot for that matter. I hate Sky Sports. I hate that when a lower league player beats 10 players and chips the keeper it doesn't matter but if Rooney scores from more than 20 yards it's amazing. I hate that female sports journos are now mandatory. I hate Mark Lawrenson for not coming out. 'I do like a big man at the back'. I bet you do. I hate any advert that portrays football to be about anything other than pain and disappointment. I hate Lee Hughes and the fact that he makes a living from the game. I hate Marlon King and any team that signs him when he gets out. I hate that it'll probably be us. I hate Phil Brown. I hate 'well the ball is a lot lighter now and will cause goalkeepers real problems this summer' before EVERY ****ING TOURNAMENT! I hate that Kieron Dyer earned more in the time I took to write this post than I'll earn this month. I hate Adrian Durham, Ian Wright and Alan Brazil. I hate Gazza. Either die or shut up. Stop ****ing lingering. I hate hearing about Hillsborough more than I hear about Heysel or Bradford. I hate Leeds. I hate Roy Keane. I hate grown men wearing football shirts of their team whilst shopping on a saturday when their team is playing at home. I hate that I don't hate Roy Hodgson. I hate Jermaine Beckford and any player who has neck tattoos. I hate songs being inappropriately taken as club anthems and then sung in a manly way. 'I'm forever blowing bubbles....'. Gaylords. I hate Danny Dyer and anyone he's ever interviewed. I hate the book 'Cass' by Cass Pennant. It is honestly the stupidest thing I've ever read. Chapter 1: Millwall. 'Yeah we took 50 to Millwall. They had 1000 in their mob but we ran 'em up and down the street'. Chapter 2: Liverpool. 'Yeah we took 50 to Liverpool. They had 2000 in their mob but we ran 'em up and down the street'. **** me... Jade Goody's autobiography is probably better. Even her non-ghost written one. I hate that all good youngsters end their careers at Spurs before they start." Agree with most of it tbf.

Yes, you have a point - some weeks ago I said Football was heading for financial problems and this is now starting to emerge... The only problem with Ashley is that he didn't PLAN to do things this way - if it works out to Newcastle's advantage it will be because he got lucky - as he has in the past, SOMETIMES. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Salary Cap emerge - the EU bend lots of rules when it suits - just watch what happens with Greece's financial problems....... There has to be a salary cap.

Yes but most Pl sides have solid midfields who can keep the ball for spells or tackle back or cover ground. We have none of that. Poorer looking defences get by in the PL cause they have hard working properly organised midfilds in front of them and some pace that can stretch a game...We have none of that either. Plus Collo is a liability in the top league, he isn't strong enough and makes too many wrong descisions.
-
This. Tbf Collo has improved and Ricky is too good for the league. But the def as a whole hasn't really improved as is being made out will be ripped to shreds by most PL sides.

we did, shearer was the first player on 20k a week in this country Boro were first when they signed Fabrizio Ravanelli. He had no interest in joining them but Juve had accepted their offer, he said he'd join if they paid him £40,000 per week, a wage that at that time was at least £10000 higher than anyone else was earning (even Man Utd had a £30000 p/w wage cap at that time). He knew that a club like Boro were in no position to pay any player that amount of money so he assumed that he'd never have to join them. Unfortunately for him, Boro said yes and agreed to his wages. True, we did pay Shearer a lot of money, but Ravanelli was the catalyst for the mid 90's wage boom. That's right and Juninho after that...Juninho was on massive money. In recent history I believe Chelsea took it ot another level with players on 135k a week. Insanity.
-
Don't matter who you have in defence if you don't have a midfield in front of it.
-
10 goal thriller Blackburn away. NOt as negative as was made out back in the day?
-
Defending in the PL isn't just about he defence etc...
-
How did this rocketing players wages lark start ffs??
-
Interesting to see what the take up is on the 'bond'.
-
We will be witnessing the decline of Man U and Liv over the coming years. Both are financially fucked. One more dip in financial markets (I'm guessing April) and the writing will be on the wall. Banks will want to take chunks of money back.
-
Looks like a one way street to me.
-
We need more healthy big black men who can run for 90min.
-
It's not about giving him stick it's more about not getting relegated again next year. IMO Hughton isn't good enough as a No.1
-
Aye, but it's the same gameplan every week which is the problem. Beat me to it.
-
The game just seems to pass him by, it's as if he's watching tumbleweed just blowing past him. More or less true but in his defence there is rarely any ammo on the bench.
-
Been saying it for about 4 years.
-
He's fuking s***. Cameron Jerome looks twice as dangerous as Jonas. Mickey Mouse armed with a pillow looks twice as dangerous as Jonas man. Yea lets blame Jonas...bravo. And where did i blame him? He's s**** at everything apart from running with the ball, zero creativity, but still our best attacking mid unfortunately. Bravo for being stupid BTW. Im stupid because i dont agree with you, like you said he was our best attacking midfielder, has a shit final ball yep but there is far worse in the team..aka the anonymous nolan tonight.. yet you choose to single him out. That makes me stupid? Fuck off to mensa will you. I didn't single him out you thick cretin, i've had a go at near everyone who's deserved it tonight. Tosser. On the other hand I love singling him out.
-
They'd be using FM to explain their tactics. "You follow that arrow there, Jonas. Run up and down there. Geddit?" He's got that bit.
