  1. This thread will go mental around Nov.
  2. Think the comments are fair enough, basically designed to keep team spirit up.
  3. On the upside, less chance of him being sold.

    NUFC 2009 Accounts

Rather be looking at these accounts than Liverpool's.
  7. That RAWK thread posted somewhere in here is amazing reading http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=257942.0 That is scary. Gillet et al are pretending the easy capital of pre-2008 will return. It's not going to anytime soon and in the meantime Liverpool will continue their decline. No CL. What are the odds for mid-table mediocrity next year? They are going to have to sell their blue chip players, it's the only clear way out. hee hee
  8. ...and it isn't even the good insane, it's the bad insane.
  9. I can't see it either, but on the other hand saying let's give CH a go and hope for the best is IMO naive. I started this thread long ago, long before that ridiculous statement, when I still harboured nominal ideas of a squad upgrade and a moderately experienced manager. All I can say is that Ch is going to need a shovel full of luck, let's hope he does.
  10. Bit surprised A Young has been left out.
  11. That attitude will last all of the first 12 games. Then this thread will be overloaded with people saying Nolan is fat or somesuch or a pic of Ch with a clowns hat on....
  12. Might as well promote the tea lady. Are you actuall taking this shitty negative statement seriously? Your's baffled.
  13. What's the point? Really? The combinatiion of this rookie and MA is going to get us relegated. This thread is basically a wonderland of nonsense.
  14. We won't stay up if CH is manager all season. MA doesn't really mind if we go back down again, he's already saying there is no money. Also with the new parachute payment the fall is a little easier. Keeping CH (who as I've said many times has done a stirling job in the CCC) won't help us stay up even with a modest spend. All the problems associated with a manager like CH who has no clout and is too timid to make a fuss about having no cash will build into creating bigger issues down the road even when considering getting 'higher profile' loan players. Anybody paying attention will also be aware that the senior players (Nolan etc) have had a very strong hand in how team affairs were run last year, that won't help either in the PL when we start losing and none of them have a clue how to compete in the toughest league in the world. Could be wrong about all this of course and we get a top 10 finish out of CH and Co and this turns into a Benny Benitez thead. In that case I'd be delighted to be proved wrong....But I won't be. Who can we realistically get, that will settle in and gain the trust of the players over the summer, have no money to spend and keep us up? How the fuck should I know. I'm not privvy to what we are offering a new manager. We won't get anyone really good under MA that's for sure. But sticking with an inexperienced yes man won't help either. it's always the same in these thread, the thread started has to offer ALL THE SOLUTIONS to the question. Well life isn't like that kids.
  15. We won't stay up if CH is manager all season. then enlighten who we can realisticly get who can keep us up and don't just make statements like that. none of us know whether hughton can keep us up, 12 months ago if we were told hughton would get us promoted as champions with an unbeaten home record and over 100 points people would have been laughing at the idea. Edit above.

  17. There are more pressing matters to hand. Although I heard he was up for the Nobel Peace Prize and has entered himself for the keepy uppy world cup.

I can only imgine he's obsessed with how the books look ie to a buyer.

Which means ruling out anybody who is going to cost more than a couple of million.
  20. Considering we're not in the CL, yeah, but otherwise I don't think it's far off what other clubs have signed in the last few years. Didn't ManU get 100m?

That's your own interpretation, and a very optimistic one at that. Funny how virtually nobody else, including people on other websites and all of the media has understood it that way. Hope you're right of course but I highly doubt it. It's clearly what's written there. Capital outlay means paying over time. Later on in the statement they say that they will make agents sign confidentiality agreements when negotiating. So there will be transfers. Just not those we can't pay for with money at hand. It might be having to sell or it might mean that he provides a transfer kitty, but it doesn't mean that he has ruled out new players. I believe we will sign players and never said differently. What fucks me off (and plenty of others in this thread and elsewhere) is that there is no money available until we sell first. A clear statement that there is no ambition whatsoever other than to try and scrape survival on the minimum of spending year on year. I guess I hoped for some reason that they'd learnt a harsh lesson about how running a football club is different to other businesses but it appears they've not learnt a thing. In fact considering the announcement today on parachute payments they probably don't really care if we go down next year. I was thinking about that last bit as well. They are really only intersted in balancing the books and the rest will be left to chance.

They won't be spending much, but we knew that. What I don't understand is releasing a statement like this at the start of summer as if expecting trouble. They should have just gone quietly about their business. What wil happen now is that there will be a feeding frenzy in the press as soon as we start to lose games. Also practically admitting before a ball is kicked that you're not going to be competitive beggars belief.
