fine, fine point this like we slate so many players yet it's patently obvious that they don't get a shred of quality training in our first team - i always thought this of steven taylor; when he broke into the first team he was doing what he'd been coached as a kid, i.e. the right stuff, and within a couple of seasons in the first eleven he doing all sorts of crazy shit I think I agree, but there's always the possibility that we see players every game when they play for us, and we see them so little when they leave. That combined with the fact our fans are harsh on our own players might mean that people like Milner and Bramble always seem better when they go elsewhere. The difference being the former was trying to buy quality. Tbf the blame lies more with Souness than Fatty. Well thats not true Souness wanted Anelka and Fatty bought Owen and Luque. Owen and Luque could have both worked out however (barring injuries - Luque was never the same after his). But I agree GS made love noises for Anelka. My point regarding quality stands however. So in reality the both of them have been shit Owner/Chairman and have fucked this club up big time, one being naive and the other for being a greedy cunt. That's the strength of it. But what runs through both regimes has been the inability or craven stupidity not to hire good football people behind the scenes. SA for all his other failings I think has been the only one who tried to redress this with his back up team of a million or so specialists.

The result is the same either way, one puts the clubs future in doubt by wrecking its finances, the other does it by getting us relegated. There hasn't been any balance with the current regime. You need to buy one or two big game players to filter in with the hopefuls.
