  1. All the warning signs are there. In a cup final. Still in Europe. Squad full of pampered gays. Players with ill defined roles. Strikers who can't score. All the other sides around them have much more fight about them. Tricky fixtures in March.

    Pompey will go down.
  3. Joe Kinnear goes and we're left high and dry, crashing further towards relegation to the Championship IMO. No half-decent, self respecting manager is going to come in now and risk being the manager that takes us down. No matter what people think we need Kinnear until the summer, because it's him or noone. Don't agree. The problem last time was the nature of the temp contract and the club being up for sale. Now we can offer a long term deal. There is a much better chance to get a decent manager IMO. But we're still in the s*** with a hot-cold owner, a mute Chairman and amongst relegation. The transfer window is shut so the new guy wouldn't be able to implement any changes and would inherit a squad that seriously lacks confidence. When there's always a chance that he could take the job, not be able to motivate the batch of players there and take the 'mighty' Newcastle United into the Championship, there'll always be those doubts about his mind. I bet Bruce or Shearer wouldn't take the job before safety was confirmed. I can't think of any decent manager that would. Cometh the hour cometh the man.

  5. What's that got to do with making a profit again? "They" wanted to leave a club that is being run into the ground. You're moaning about them making a profit when you can't prove that's what they were/are after, even if it looks that way given the lack of funds coming out of us. I'm well aware of your second sentence, I even say as much in that post. I'm not disagreeing that Given/Insomnia left mainly because of the club's ineptitude, and nor am I disagreeing that the profit they've made on the likes of them and Milner hasn't been put to good use. I am disagreeing with this idea that they wanted to sell. I don't think we'd have spent much regardless of who left the club, and that is a sorry state of affairs. The whole squad was up for sale in the summer vis a vie Owen being touted and Barton telling us the club was trying to sell him. I don't believe for a minute they even made a bid for Johnson regardless of what they say. What happened to the two int class loanees? Gomis, the right back, the wow signing...Where are all these players JFK keeps spouting on about. I'm not moaning at all I'm just bemused by the level of horseshit we're being fed. It's not ineptitude either it is they way they roll, they are investing in the baseline and extracting organic profit from the business it is as clear as day. Man City said that bids had been made for Johnson. Are you just claiming we didn't make one of them? On what basis? I don't count calling them on the last day asking if he was available as a bid in all seriousness. If they had any compunction to buy the player he would either have been approached on the first day of the window or packaged in the Given deal. This is just smoke and mirrors and lip service. Actually he's still inj according to his agent and not even properly running yet, so what good would he have been? It's nonsense to pull the wool over peoples eyes. I don't disagree. I'm just saying that there was certainly a bid. Good.

  8. Tell me about it. I can't be arsed to argue anymore. Just listened to the full NUSC meeting and I've rarely heard anything more depressing. It really breaks my heart to hear a room full of fans so hurt and betrayed by their football club, and what they're essentially doing is futilely lashing out at whoever is within reach. They don't have a chance of ever affecting a real change, they don't even seem to know what they want and why. The focus on removing Dennis Wise was also bizarre, when nobody knows what he has done wrong (if anything). The problem they've got is that any point anyone makes, it is assumed it has to be underpinned by the premise that Ashley is evil and the only answer is to hound him out. I wouldn't dare to turn up to one of their meetings and express the kind of points I do on here... From what I heard yesterday, there were differing views on most things. One or two dissenting voices, but they were mainly just acknowledged and then ignored. I didn't hear anyone make an impact on the anti-Ashley stance. One of the committee seemed to be more reasonable, but the main guy (I assume the chairman) was pretty focussed. Just my take after one listen through. Fair enough. How should we move forward then?

  11. Dude, I'm far from happy, that would be ridiculous. I'm just saying that I think the issue of 'communication' is a red herring, and just a way for people to express their different grievances. I suppose making a tidy profit in a mission critical transfer window is also a red herring? "Dude".
  12. Broadly agree. Infact I don't think his cash position was actually ever that strong (liquidity). A vast amount of his wealth is paper wealth and even that has been seriously compromised. Someone said in another thread that he should have actually got involved with a smaller club and I agree with that now.
  13. Agree with this. I think that the club would have responded better had he waited until the summer. It would have shown more loyalty to have stayed and fought with us to keep us up. I think the money swayed it to be honest. Had he gone to Arsenal I could have bought his "moving for a chance of success" line, however Man Citeh are no better than we are, as the result at Stoke showed. He was here for 12 years - thats pretty damn loyal, do you want him to get NUFC tatooed on his arse to reinforce it? He has left us cos he knows we are deep in it - he wants to get out while he can and i dont blame him for that. As for moving to Citeh - they are a million times more ambitious than us and thats why he joined them In a nutshell.
  14. Doesn't even take training and not in an aloof MON kind of way, but just a sad loping sit in office drink tea kind of way. Is there any reason I should believe this? is there any reason not to? have you seen us play? Seeing us play I'd be more inclined to believe JFK does take training. I guarantee he doesn't. Calderwood was brought in cause Houghton was doing it practically single handed.
  15. Nice post. The biggest issue is Kinnear imo. I'm praying he's replaced at the end of the season, hopefully once we've survived. What Llambias brings to the club is beyond me, he has no background in football by all accounts yet he's running the whole damn party (allegedly). Perhaps there's a giant casino going up and noones noticed. Maybe the whole club's run like roulette? Black - we go for Hitzfeld Red - we go for Rijkard No colour - let's make this interesting and go for Kinnear ha ha ha ha * Spinny spinny spinny * * Kerplunk * Fuck me, what were the odds of that happening, Dennis? Old washed up Joe it is, then! Now on to transfers..... ....the craps table?

  18. Good points well put. The main thing to understand about MA is that he isn't really a big thinker, he made a lot of cash quite quickly in the tacky world of discount chav garmentry, hence his lack of foresight in setting up a management team at our club. Running/owning and managing football clubs these days is a very time consuming and tricky business with many pitfalls, even if one leg of the table is missing ie a good manager all the other stuff suffers. It is well know DW was hired by the recommendation of MA's good/best friend the erstwhile Tottenham director Kelmsley ( yes another perma-grinning fat fucker). The answer to all this is high powered rifles with lovely little novelty toon stickers on the stock.
  19. He did read the accounts before buying the club, he didn't do due dilligence. The only surprise was the sponsorship money having been spent and having to pay the loan off early. Ashley knew about £70 million of debt before buying the club. Be quiet Mick, people don't want to hear that. So being a tight cunt was his plan all along? We'll wait and see. [LLO/]
  20. What are they actually doing to the club? Wheres the long term plan in all this? Supposing they get there way and Ashley leaves - then what? I havent heard them mention once what happens after that. If Ashley just "leaves" and takes his £100m loan back and refuses to underwrite the clubs debts for the next accounting period then the answer is easy, the company that is NUFC is technically insolvent (unable to pay its debts when they fall due) and would with need to bring in administrators. I don't think you understand company law. He can't "leave" after creating his own debt structure. How's he getting his £100m back too? "Yeah, that £100m? I'd like that back now thanks. I'm not enjoying this any more."
