I'm sorry but that bit does not stack up to everything which NUSC has publically stood for since day one. They want Ashley out, pure and simply there has been no 'we want to establish how he intends to take the club forward. The rest of the response seems prety measured though, and is an improvement on past statements. They've made a pretty obvious shift towards that IMO, before this latest statement. Agreed. People need to understand the dynamics of how the origingal catalyst (setting up NUSC to as a protest against Ashley primarily), slowly but surely turns into a more well rounded and considered approach. It is the very nature of all protest movemets, sooner or later you're having coffee with the people who you started out protesting against etc... Having listened to the meeting they quite clearly remain a one-issue protest group, everything else they supposedly do it simply window dressing designed to allow them to pass themselves off as a genuine supporters' group. Don't get me wrong, there's obviously some people (Tom for example) who have genuine intentions to work towards building something, but the majority of the people involved are only interested in one thing and the "leadership" appear to be mainly motivated by ego. There's little to no considered thought gone into nearly everything they've done so far, they don't even know what they stand for, for fuck's sake, and they're organising a rally to promote, protest, highlight... ...erm, they're organising a rally for some reason - fuck knows why, they don't seem to. I thought he had no balls? Shocked you didn't start a new thread to say that. Oh and Shearer hasn't got the balls to manage us. Other teams however... He will manage one day, but is the type to want everything right and in place first.

Man United are far, far stronger than us, there's no chance whatsoever of us winning the league. I honestly don't think Liverpool are much better than us (people talk about us riding our luck, but Liverpool have ridden theirs far more). Where Liverpool have the edge is that they - collectively and individually - have the experience which we don't. Top four - anywhere in it - and I'll be delighted. Fifth and I'll be very happy. Sixth, and I'll still be relatively happy, but will reflect on what might have been. A little under 2.5 years ago we had DOL, Doug Ellis, finished 16th and were staring at absolutely certain relegation. Lerner and O'Neill have worked miracles to change things so quickly. I agree, for me Liverpool are workman like who rely heavily on the absolute world-class performers that are Gerrad and Torres, otherwise they'd be more Everton than what they currently are. They are a very good side don't get me wrong, very strong, but they lack genuine class across the park and on the bench like Man Utd, Chelsea and even Arsenal who for me are going through an identity crisis kind thing more than anything else. When I asked whether Villa could adapt their game for me Arsenal simply haven't and don't look capable of any time soon which is in the most part the reason why they aren't competing like they used to. Liverpool have adapted their game to some extent while Chelsea were trying to under Scolari and Man Utd, well they are the masters of it and one of the reasons why they never really budge. Regarding where you finish, I'm of the opinion you strike while the iron is hot. Yes sometimes teams can overachieve where it soon catches up with them (we were such victims ourselves), where perhaps Champions League football if you're a Villa or Premier League football if you're a promotion hopeful, could come a year too soon, but that's where a good manager, team and board earn their stripes - adjusting quickly and succeeding. If not... well you'll have some great nights like we did. Worry about whether CL footy could come a season too early when that actually becomes an issue. You never know, it could actually be the real turning point where Villa just go from strength to strength and become a fully paid up member of the top 4. I say that because one of them is due a long fall from grace and for me Arsenal are in the thick of the shit. Chelsea can always buy themselves out of it while Liverpool under Rafa will always be ultra competitive. I think it will be Arsenal. Not sure Arseshaving is the ans either.

JK will be gone at the end of the season.

I've been waiting for this. One of the 4 is in for a shock come June hopefully. I thought last year it might be Arsenal - I was a year ahead as usual.

All this hoo ha, all they had to do was keep KK and have a modest spend of about 15-20m. They are making out like even that would have destroyed the club or summat.....Incredulous.

It's worked in the past. he's already almost 2 years into the "grand plan", these "plans" which people said always succeeded. Or do I take it, he's starting again to see how the next 2 years goes too ? Shame the grand plan of actually capitalising on the clubs fanbase, and strengthening the current first team and encouraging our best players to see a future at the club wasn't on the radar. I'm worried we're not following the Spurs "plan" closely enough.

fuck that, rather have Joe.. on acid Ashleeeeeeeee!!!!

The thing is if we it gets close, his health will suffer. What are they playing at? He's got high blood pressure and a dodgy ticker.

1. Is the first one not exactly what Llambias said? 2. Peasepud may indeed not have any interest in discussing Keegan, but the fact is other members of the committee do & they don't go with the majority vote. 3. So what? What does he think about the claims that NUSC went about everything the wrong way at the start? I assume Peasepud denies this outright. That is totally made up according to PP.

"European football reporter Dave Farrar thinks Bojinov could "light up the Premier League" and emulate a previous City cult hero. "Bojinov's got all the talent in the world, and I can see him being a Georgi Kinkladze-style fans favourite," Farrar told BBC Five Live Sport. "He's one of those players around whom there is always something happening. He's a fun signing."

Feeling it. Aye.

In the list of scathing insults, "ridiculous parameters" is surely up there. :-[

Great post and good insight. Very salient point about MON. No doubt he picked up some things from Cloughie who was the master of these moments.

Good shout. Svennis with two flops on his hands.

Going out on a limb, I'd say the biggest failing is the lack of applied psychology. Something which would deffo be helped in the kind of process you're talking about.
