  1. ...as I said earlier why make a change when you're clearly on top?
  2. There are simple reasons why we tend to play well against these types of sides...They come onto us and we get some space behind them to play in. If we have to break a deadlock we have problems as we have little pace and creativity.
  3. That's the biggest load of bullshit I've seen spouted from you in a long time. Sam's substitutions didn't cost us the game it was a fucking obvious offside cost us we played better than Chelsea in the second half and we looked like the ones that were going to score more than them. as others have said, sam's substitutions lost us the initiative, from that point on it made a chelsea win much more likely. you make your own luck or in chelsea's case we make it for them. It was really a sub not worth making. Good managers rarely make these changes when games are in the balance or they have the ascendancy.
  4. A few times is a massive understatement. SWP was basically unmarked today and had acres of room in which to manouvre. Tore us to shreds, luckily for us the rest of Chelsea's first teamers were out, resulting in players like Ballack and Kalou cocking up chance after chance created by SWP. This is hopefully the end of Zog at left back. On another day, he could have cost us 3-4 goals easily, and although hes a pretty useful left back going forward, he cant be faulted for defensive errors since hes not a natural defender, and quite clearly hes capable of making a shedload of them. I think Zoggy just decided by himself he didn't want to play there anymore and who can blame him?
  5. Have to say, I thought Faye was exceptional. Height and power in the midfield, something we've been crying out for a long time now. He was absolutely paggered by the 75th minute and looked knackered twice, but still managed to finish the game. MOM for me closely followed by Zoggy and Beye.
  6. yes, any apparent benefit gained from his superiority at attacking from deep, which is at best debatable considering most of his best work today was in the final third, is lost by his defensive weaknesses in the same position. next game has to be duff on the right and n'zogbia on the left. Yes.
  7. Stayed there and their defence pushed up, grateful that no-one was gonna get in behind them anymore. This is the thing with Martins he might be scatty but he keeps 2/3 of theirs occupyied and on edge worrying about the ball over the top or into a channel.
  8. I said to Mrs P they'll snatch one near the death. Didn't imagine it would be 3 million light years offside!!
  9. Just about to say the same...Owen has to have someone beside him.
  10. We'll be alright as long as no one tries a shot from range. [Given/]
  11. Good thoughtful post. Agree to an extent, but really - continueing with BSA in charge is going to cost us BIG. I believe Shearer will be a good manager, better than most. But voted for another - preferably Houllier. I'm not advocating SA stays on as manager ie ''do a good job upstairs''. Just don't think the time is right for us to give it to Shearer and infact it isn't right for Shearer either. I hope to god his selfish streak stops him taking it.
  12. I'd consider a massive shuffle around. It's risky but it could work. Emre on for Duff. Stick Zoggy LM, Taylor LB, Emre CM and Faye CB.
