Alex Ferguson - Joined Rangers for a then record fee for a transfer between two Scottish clubs. Arsene Wegner - Won a league title in France Rafa Benitez - Was injured young while in the Read Madrid system. So we are looking for a s*** footballer who has managed someone like Huddersfield..............what about X-Newcastle stopper Peter Jackson? You miss my point. At present, the only rationale for Shearer's possible appointment is that he was a fantastic, committed player. Well, so was Bryan Robson, so was Stuart Pearce. Would you want either of them managing the club? People are clinging to straws.

It's what the site is for though isn't it, for fans to give their views? Given that this is by far the biggest issue at our club right now, it's got to be touched upon. It's my view that SA is under immense pressure right now and the tabloids are starting to go after him, I don't think we need to add to that scenario right at this moment. Just my opinion.
-
Why wouldn't it be proper? Why do you think?
-
Not sure it is fair or proper to have an article of this kind on the front page at the moment imo.
-
Shearer would be tactically naive. The game has moved on considerably at the top end of the PL in the last couple of years. IMO back to basics isn't enough although it would be a step in the right direction. Mark Hughes plays simple effective football, but they get turned over quite easily if it doesn't go well...Even he is STILL LEARNING. Shearer would be at this time be a gigantic risk...and comparisons to KK are ridiculous as I mentioned earlier the PL is 10 times stronger and more subtle tactically with a good half dozen world class and international class coaches operating in it. Hiring Shearer would be akin to hiring Worzel Gummidge to lock horns with the MIT think tank. How I see it anyway.

Wrong club, wrong time.
-
I tend to agree, the only way he would do it now is if he was promised a £100m warchest etc...
-
Relegated.
-
I seriously doubt Houllier is strong enough a personality to manage us imo.
-
With insight like this we simply have to appoint him immediately...
-
This is not a direct attack on SA. It is about people wanting Shearer and imagining he will be some kind of cure all.
-
Klinsmann would be a good move IMO.
-
I certainly don't. It's the most ridiculous idea doing the rounds. He needs to manage somewhere else first and develop his skills as a manager (make his mistakes and learn more about himself), in no way should he return and make us his first full time managerial post. Madness. For the record we don't have to sack Allardyce as he could do a good job upstairs and continue his behind the scenes revolution which from all accounts is working and developing the infrastructure for success in the long term.

Exacertedly.

We will now see how much 'bottle' MA has in Jan.

My Dad (not at all tongue in cheek), said "fuck the lot of them, I can't be arsed with that club anymore" My Dad (tongue down his throat) has just choked to death, club's finally done him in.

Interesting post. I agree that financially it makes sense to keep the key backroom staff. Doesn't mean we have to keep to organ grinder though. Incidentally, what does ludacris mean? I can't find it on dictionary.com. is it not actually a word like? Me mother uses it all the time! Means rediculous Superb. What's rediculous? Couldn't find that either.

totally different,at least in the case of bellamy as we had no-one to play wide right (where he has played before) and could play shola through the middle instead. What? As far as I can remember we had Bowyer, Ambrose, Dyer and Milner who could all play on the right and allow our best player (which was undoubtedly Bellamy at that time) to play in his proper position. I seem to remember one match when we had Shola, Bellamy, Kluivert, Robert, and Shearer all on the pitch. The fella was a mentalist, man. bowyer was playing centre mid at the time (or going throught one of his s*** spells)...dyer injured (at a guess)ambrose was s*** and i'm gonna check toonstats to see where milner was Look, I know you love Souness, but there can really be no excuse for playing Shola on the left. Even worse than playing Martins on the right. righto.....look i never made an excuse for playing shola on the left. and totally agree re martins Imo, there are some parallels. Souness seemed to come in and change things around simply to 'make his mark' and a lot of what Big Sam is up to smacks of the same nonsense to me. They both tried to be too clever and force changes that were neither wanted nor needed. On the other hand the supporters are the last people you wnat to listen to if you want to bring long term change. Quite true, but you have to engender faith in the fans or you've played yo'self. I just like to put in the odd curve ball....Poor Sam. How can everything that looked so right go so wrong? [MrsParky/]
