Even if they don't go down this season, I can't see much improving for them short term. They now have literally no players of any value at all and parachute payments go down by the season, don't see them going up any time soon.

Literally half the league are in a relegation battle as it stands. Would think that a couple of teams might be able to pull themselves out of it fairly soon, but it'll still be very tight down there this season I reckon. Three teams out of ten going down, and we're in a better position than the majority of them, I don't think we'll be too worried come April/May.

That's what I was getting at We do need to upgrade Clark badly. Sure he's keeping it tight, but his limitation on the ball is one of our biggest issues. With him and Lascelles at the back we are never comfortably retaining possession nor are we playing out quickly and decisively. So, he's gotta go asap if we want to really improve. Same goes for the fullbacks. Aye, but not as a priority. We need a #10 and a #9 first. CM wouldn't go amiss either. There are a good five or six players that I would replace ahead of Clark without even having to think about it.
