I wouldn't say Luque's work rate is poor or lazy in the villa game for example, he looked really up for it as you could see by his manner when waiting on the touch line with Roeder before coming on but Roeder seemed to be ignoring him, why I don't know and we probably never will. He seems to like playing these deft touches but they never seem to be coming off for him which suggests to me, lacking in confidence!. I would like to see him get a decent run of games just behind Martins because I think that seems to be his best position and if he can't hack it or is not up to it then by all means sell him, but we'll never really know unless we at least give him a try a decent run of games thats all I would like to see.

Exactly Ameobi was so God fucking awful for the last 4-5 seasons and yet there are those who are willing to stick with him based on his recent purple patch. Luque plays poorly in bits and parts of matches and he is already being called rubbish despite proving his worth for Depor scoring against top teams. What pisses me off is we bring in players like Martins and Luque and we dont play to their strengths if you are going to pay all that money for a player at least play to his strengths otherwise you get absolutely nothing for your money. So poor Management equals poor player and Martins certianly needs time to adapt like any Foreign player does.

For me it's down the the Fat Porky Pie and Roeder being a bit naive with scouting and watching of players to late or wasting his time on one player to late in the window transfer ie Kuyt, I thought Duff was a luxury we could have waited for till the end if he was availble if not no big deal because I would have been happy with Milner and Zoggs as our first wingers with Nobby and someone else who was cheap for back up our priority was clearly defence and one maybe two strikers clearly we needed two full backs and central defender. Roeders criteria of young and Premiership experience was a big mistake as other clubs have proven with their transfer dealings most being Foreign. So it all boils down to in the end Fat Porky Pie and Roeder.

I wouldn't say no to Viduka he's big can hold the ball up better than Ameobi he would be a good partner for Martins and Owen for that matter and at 2 Million a bargain but what puzzles me why didn't we go for Lucas Neill he's on his way to Liverpool apparently for 2 million another bargain gone by the wayside Roeder knows our defence is crap and he's such a versatile player in defence.

No not perfect just that some Footballers are good at contolling the ball and couldn't score goal if they were a metre away from the net. The point is Luque has his good qualities and we should be using them rather than playing him out of position which we are at the moment, IE loan Striker!, which he certianly is not. He won't be used on the wing that's covered by Zoggs and Duff, I see him playing just behind our main striker not playing the big long balls at him we know he's no good in the air, play to his best attributes that's all I'm saying.

I just think Roeder doesn't like him I mean if you saw him just before he came on, on the sideline next to Roeder Luque looked really up for it he seemed to be asking a lot questions but Roeder seemed to be ignoring him and thats probably why he'll leave in the January window once we get another striker before Thursday. I just wish Roeder would play him behind the main striker it's obvious he's no lone striker, and a lot of you say he doesn't show any backbone when he is playing but maybe Roeder doesn't give him the direction he needs because maybe Roeder doesn't like him as person which is quite possible, I mean he wouldn't be the first Manager to put his personal feelings before his Managerial.

I think Luque is certianly not an out an out striker but someone who who should play behind a proper stiker feeding the ball to him, to me this is where Roeder should play him and I hope now that Martins will be playing this is where Luque will play.

I would give him one season just see if he is the man for the job, last season every one was euphoric because we weren't relegated and we started winning some games. But I'll go on record I don't think he is the man get the Toon what we want, I hope I'm proven wrong though but doubt it. The fact is we couldn't get a decent Manager to come to Toon and the question is why couldn't we? and I certianly don't want Shearer to be our Manager until he proves himself in the lower leagues.

Well I think you'll find there are quite a few Toon fans in Oz also, although I am also living in Canada at the moment but I only have one year left before we leave to go to another country but I have been following the Toon since the KK days when I first went to live in Brussels I remebered when I first saw them play on TV there, they are the same colours as my team back in Oz, so said to myself I'll support this team and the more I read and saw of the Toon I was hooked I support them more now than I do my team back in Oz. I to have a bit of a Nordic connection as I'm married to a Finn and will be in Finland in a couple of weeks so I was hoping we would get a Finnish team to play in the EUFA Cup so then I could watch the Toon live for the first time.
