Yes. And you were how old when he was in charge? What's your point? I never said the era wasn't brilliant did i? I've also seen him go through other clubs and resign in every single one of them, stop living in the past.

FFF president 'reassured' Houllier not moving to Tyneside

Our chances of appointing someone good have dropped significantly, the fact the media claim and Redknapp himself claims he was offered the job means that any other manager looking at the job realizes they're the second choice, do you think someone with Mourinho's caliber would want a job in which: 1.Harry Redknapp rejected 2.He was Ashley's second choice If those two points are true of course. It's irrelevant, whether it's true or not it's something the candidate will be thinking about. -

I think it's just a metaphor in this case. There isn't an actual CV. yeah I know. Just saying if they were considering him, surely he'd become first choice. I can imagine a full Jose CV though. "1984 - worked part-time at "[insert Portuguese shop name here]", the Portuguese version of Woolworths..." We won't be considering him and if we've considered him after been rejected by Redknapp I'll be baffled by Mort and Ashley's decisions. Everything is pointing to the fact that we didn't offer Redknapp the job, but that we approached him for talks, as we did with other candidates. Is it? By the fact we said we didn't actually offer him the job? Have you not thought that was just a ploy in order for us to look less stupid than we already do? -

Think about it a bit harder, and see if your opinion changes. I was right first time.

The independant claim Van Gaal has ruled himself out, no quotes though. -
I get that impression tbh. You just want a foreign manager cos' it looks good :parky: Do they play passing, attacking football though?

I hope it's sorted out this week.

Craig David outside SJP? i know we are a circus but surely not. I've resigned to calling him that after stumbling along to a game a year or so ago (forgot which one) with 2 mates half-cut. He was there doing a piece to camera, to which one of my mates shouted behind poor David, in a Bo Selecta style voice, "Daaaaaaavid Craaaaig, on his North-east tour". A pathetic attempt to get on TV I know, but the horror on the camera mans face was a picture! Maybe NSG can give you a few pointers.

Have kind of kept away from watching football all weekend.... what were they like at your place ? Not very good, but that's not what I'm basing it on. They remind me of our team when we finished 4th- getting a large slice of luck in that they nick a lot of their wins by 1 goal and are not actually as good as their position suggests. I think they will end up finishing about 7th and will need to invest again in the summer to maintain that kind of position. Up front in particular needs some serious cash. With all respect, they have a more talented squad than you had when you came 4th.

Good move, that. I'm loving the fact the writer of that stream of unmitigated shite has got Tim and Gary Cahill mixed up. Lovely jubbly. How are these people appointed?
-
Shearer did have an influence on the team but that doesn't have to come vocally, his sheer presence on the pitch and how he played on the pitch would have influenced the players around him, obviously been a manager you can't give that presence or example.

Souness. Fair comment. But at least Hughes is getting better with time? Yes because we value time up here at Newcastle don't we? I meant more the fact that everyone in the world (barring a daft balding cunt) knew Souness was shite, getting shitter, and it was going to be a disaster. Owen didn't, the daft cunt signed because of him http://img86.imageshack.us/img86/9512/trophy11sd0.jpg Synical bastard! You're right.
