  1. I wonder if Josef Goebels is now working for NUFC and SD? It would seem so. Judging by the success Ashley has had at lowering expectations, it would seem you are right, BG.. Goebels theory was that if you repeated a lie often enough, even a big lie, most people would start to believe it......Ashley has persuaded quite a high percentage of NUFC fans that they should be grateful that the club is in the PL, cannot match the likes of Norwich and Southampton in the transfer market, and should be satisfied with people like Kinnear and Pardew running the playing side/transfers... The words 'King's', 'New' and 'clothes' come to mind.... A chunk of the Swedish fanbase are furious with people who complain about Ashley and Pardew. We're supposedly bad fans and put shame on our club for pointing to the problems. I wrote a long document on Ashley's ownership and his failings, ultimately pointing to the fact that we're seemingly turning into an advertising board and retailing outlet for Sports Direct. The majority of those who read it echoed my worries. However, some seem to fall for his attempts to lower expectations. One fan said I "represented the club in a bad way". Made me even more determined not to let him win. I'll keep terrorizing them with way too long texts about how horrible he is.
  2. Think Robert had something like 8 goals and 17 assists in his first season. Hatem's got immense talent, arguably greater than Roebrt, but Robert was a fucking player in his day and played to his strengths by a fantastic manager.
  3. Wonder what things would've been like for him and for us had he not left.
  4. I was ready to use them.
  5. set your aims a little lower to start with.....simon bird? he's not offensively bad either tbh, set your aims to be better than Lee Ryder at first and work from there. Ryder wouldn't have been able to post Ketsbaia's post here.
  6. Just read it. Absolutely fantastic, as usual. Strong hint that Kinnear is on his way.
  7. One more of those headlines and I'm adding the Journal to my shit list.
  8. Ashley owns 15% of JD Sports.
  9. I'd fucking love a Ben Arfa takeover bid.
  10. Media has to pick up on this? Whether or not it's illegal isn't really relevant. If our ambition and spending as a football club is being marginalized because of money going into Sports Direct instead, it's a fucking scandal anyway. I've been doing research and reading loads of things this week for a text I'm writing on Ashley's ownership and how things have built up to this. This quote from Llambias is still baffling.
  11. To be honest he's the one thing I'm happy about with regards to the club. The hope that makes me want to watch games. One of my favourite players of all time.
  12. Greed and lack of respect isn't necessarily the driving force in capitalism. This is one man on a money-grabbing crusade, not the result of an ideology.
  13. I feel sick. Not a football club anymore. Like Dave said a while back, the football is just an uncomfortable distraction. Quite extraordinairy what's happening to be honest.
  14. Why would NUFC/Sports Direct want other companies to advertise? It's all there for SD to get as much exposure as possible.
  15. Unbelievable. Un-fucking-believable. Seems as if the whole advertisement-channel is just the surface of NUFC currently being a decorated SD outlet. We need Lester Freemon here. Follow the money.

  17. Two of those 2 769 managers are Joe Kinnear and Alan Pardew.
  18. Well, there's a pattern where almost all of our players have had a drop in performances. Gouffran's 3 in 20 as a winger in a 4-2-3-1 isn't alarming in that context.
  19. We've played some of the worst football I've ever seen in those 20 games. Probably the MOST incoherent and flat attacking football any team has ever played at any level.

    Alan Pardew

How badly do people think of Pardew as a person? I'm a bit split. I despise his conduct and constant praising of Ashley, lack of pride and sales man-like approach to football. I hate his tactics, I hate his negativity and I hate his excuses. However, being in the position he was in; sacked from a League One club and offered to take reigns in the Premier League again. Would people have done differently? Can you hold that against him? He probably (most likely considering GolfMags posts) had a very good idea on how limited the clubs approach would be. He knew he was going to displace a loved and successful manager on other merits than sporting ones. Part of me feels that Alan Pardew is just a part of Ashley's vulgar and pathetic way of running things, just there to be a facade and talk s***. Part of me feels that he has taken an opportunity to prove himself at the highest level and that many people in his position would have done the same.
  21. Have to say Michael Martin usually comes across well, no bullshit and he certainly cuts to the core of the problems about our club. But his assessment of Gouffran is just wrong. There are far worse players in our squad, and I'd say Gouffran offers quite a lot in terms of workrate and movement. I'd play him over Sammy, Jonas, Obertan and Marveaux in a 4-3-3. However, he's contributed more to our play when he's been allowed to come inside from a wide left position (Southamption and Spurs last season springs to mind).
  22. Not looking to sell according to The Journal
  23. Caulkin on with Michael Martin, Taylor and Besty here. http://taylorandbesty.podbean.com/ Not done yet but good listen so far.
