  1. Pardon me for not having an indepth knowledge of Swedish football but Alexander who?? He plays for Southampton and was a regular for Sweden at right-back for 2 years. Didn't make the world cup though. If you don't know who he is, lets just say that Sebastian Larsson is a central midfielder that should never be considered for Newcastle United. At fullback he is probably no better than Ramage.
  2. Not even close to the Swedish national team so there's no chance he would provide us with something special. Never been thought of as very talented here in Sweden either. Supposed to have had a good spell with Birmingham so he's probably no better than the likes of Alexander Östlund if you get the picture...

    Fake NUFC gear

I've got a captains armband with pictures of Shearer and his name spelled "SHERER". Currently captain of my local team so I wear it every game.
  4. Shearer and Bellamy for me. In Europe they had 3-2 vs Feyenoord, 2-2 at San Siro and so on, all down to their great partnership. Created so much space for eachother in the Premiership. I remember when they started to work well against Bolton(a) in 01/02 and then it just continued.
  5. Boumsong is playing better and better all the time. 2nd choice at CD ahead of Robert Kovac, Legrottaglie is first choice. Anyway he's seems to be finding his feet again, but who wouldn't in the Serie B(Carr?).
  6. Phillipe Mexes is exactly what we need. Brilliant passer and from what I've seen very strategic. Might not be very commanding but he'd be great alongside Taylor. As someone said, we'd never get him in a million though.
  7. I think he is spot on. Today he looked nothing like a talented footballer. I'm very concerened about Steven Taylor. Not making the starting eleven is one thing, but on a day when Craig Moore is dreadful and he loses his place on the bench to Peter Ramage, he has to consider his future at the club. I know he is young and maybe he hasn't been as good as last season, but I've watched him over the years in the England youth-teams aswell as a lot of his performances for Newcastle. He is class. Moore is an ex-alcoholic and Bramble will always produce these decent games just to slip and give away a goal. If Roeder and Pearson wants someone to build our defence around it's Taylor, no one else. They need to show some belief in his ability, then he will shine again + he, apart from the likes of Moore, is hungry for success and has a point to prove in the Premiership, and considering Taylors past he should be aiming for nothing but the England national team.
  8. Anyone else remember back in the days when 5th place was unacceptable?
  9. Is Roeder the proud schmuck that Souness was or will he give in now and resign?
  10. Someone up and coming who has proven results from abroad. Backroom staff should be Shearer, Rob Lee, Lee Clark, Gary Speed, Peter Beardsley and Glenn Roeder. Then he'd be able to cope with english football. Terry McDermott can take a walk. Paul Le Guen is doing shit at Rangers, i'd fancy him anyway. Otherwise Spalletti(Roma) or Quique Flores(Valencia) both seems to be great, probably none of them would be interested in coming here though. Dave Penney - did brilliant at Doncaster from what I've heard. Could be a decent assistant or something. He's free right now right?
  11. Just think he saw Roeder as the perfect caretaker while waiting for Shearers pro-licence which he might have at the end of next season or something. Hopefully he wont have to take charge of us in the Championship.
  12. Thanks. Really needed that.
  13. Puts this crap into some perspective.
  14. And up front? Not Shola, Finnigan, Carroll or Troisi. For some reason I believe in Taylor and Milner.
  15. For some reason, I reckon Aston Villa and Wolverhampton are pretty well supported here in Sweden. Probably because of Mellberg in Villa, but Wolves were the first team to be shown a lot on Swedish television.
  16. Dont know if its already been said but Kuyt also managed to NOT be shown a yellow card in the game against Portugal, a model proffessional just like Shearer...stays out of trouble when it emerges. I've seen him play a couple of times and you could tell that he was a bit nervous in the first half, just like in the game vs Argentina. BUT: he plays well and the only thing missing is a goal. Brilliant targetplayer and gave 100% in every situation. I'd be happy if we bought him for £10M.
