Who says you can’t start a match without being match fit?
-
May need to change the stadium name, heard he’s afraid of parks.
-
I don’t think a loss away to Sheff Wed with a massively changed line up has any bearing on where we finish. EH is a mentality monster, we’ll keep getting better.
-
Eh? Match fitness requires matches.

Learned recently that a mate of mine was in Sunderland on Boxing Day, don’t ask me why, and they went to ‘a pub’ to watch us play Leicester. All going swimmingly until the 7th minute when we scored our second and they turned it off .

He gets a pass from me for a lonnnnnng time yet. He’s been outrageously good.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-1 Newcastle United (07/01/2023)
Dr Venkman replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Meh, you can’t win ‘em all. A frustrating one but I doubt I’ll think about it much at all from tomorrow onwards. -
I said 2 x 30 mins! Put appropriate time limits on stoppages to keep it under 2 hours allowing for half time. It can be done.
-
I’m not seeing how 2 x 30 minute halves turns into a 2.5 hour game but at this point, who cares.
-
Would you? Why? 30 minutes per half? The major flaw is something no-one had mentioned yet. Too difficult to embed at all levels of football.
-
I see. That’s a fair point but with careful implementation you’d be able to get it pretty reliable. There’s no reason there can’t be a time limit on throw ins, corners, free kicks etc. it would actually keep the game flowing really nicely if done right.
-
I think it feels like that to us because we follow everything NUFC related very closely.
-
Time wasting is used both for wasting time and stopping momentum, but I take your point. Not entirely sure what the second point is, something to do with what time the game finishes? I think it’s worth exploring because I think it’s a route to fairer outcomes, that’s all.

Yeah

You're talking about Gatorade and time out's man
-
2x30 minute halves IMO.

Your first sentence hints at the idea that the problem would be solved, albeit in a manner you don't appreciate, another opinion. Your mask has slipped in the second sentence and revealed your argument as 'I don't like American stuff'. Probably pointless to continue.
-
I'm disagreeing agreeably.
-
Ok. Home games are inherently more likely to bring positive results, though, so the inference is clear.
-
Well, aye...
-
That's an opinion presented as a fact. Stop the clock when the game stops and you remove as much human error (bias) as possible.
-
No, you need to stop the clock when the game stops.
