His post match interview was telling, btw. Mentioned that it was about time he scored and said that everyone in the squad was pulling in the same direction, whether they're playing or not, thanks to Rafa.

I love that people have pounced on the signing of a 33 year old striker to claim that the club are signing players against Rafa's wishes. You're all fucking mental

Post match available to watch anywhere?

This kid looks smooth.

It's ridiculous. Very professional performance, easily did enough to win. People were upset when we lost to Fulham and Huddersfield based on their league position last season. We've just brushed aside the team that finished joint 2nd without breaking sweat. What is with the negativity, man? The club's being slowly awakened from a coma by a world class manager and people are pissing and moaning over everything. -
Thought he'd give us the edge over Brighton at home Hard not to be positive about everything about the club at the minute, imo. 4 consecutive competitive victories, new signings making an impact, team improving, and (whether you rate new signings or not) the club can't be accused of not backing the manager. Well done lads.

It isn't a bad idea. Only upsets the heedthabaals who fail to understand a raft of football manager signings aren't possible in the real world. Mate, I've agreed with you twice in the last few weeks. Things are looking up.

Tells its own story tbh. Strange, isn't it
-
Haha yeah! Because he's the sort of player we would have signed before he was at NUFC!

The last few years have been his prime Well if what I watched in his last game v Norwich is his prime I'd hate to see what he was like beforehand. Did someone not say he dominated in that game earlier? He certainly didn't in the game I watched. A 33 year old journeyman striker isn't what we need right now and nobody on here will convince me otherwise. What do you think we needed? Not him. I'd rather we just stuck with Gayle, Mitrovic, Perez and Armstrong then bring him in to clog up the wage bill further. I just don't rate him at all, never have. Put it this way, if the mackems were signing him we'd be laughing at them. They're in the premier league man What are you talking about!?

Yeah, and I'm sure you'll be straight on here when Rafa proves you wrong and we get promoted.

We have never needed to buy more than 1 striker, we have always had enough in terms of numbers just the quality. We have swapped the likes of Cisse for Gayle and Doumbia for this guy. People need to get their heads out of theirs arses a bit. What nonsense. I hate this type of attitude. So folk are not allowed to criticise? Anyway, of course we needed to buy more than one striker. The very case being this afternoon. Both Mitro and Gayle injured and, of those two, only one has shown they can score goals at this level. Listen, if he proves doubters wrong, brilliant. But on face value this seems, at best, like a panic buy. Plenty of other options out there that could have provided much better squad depth. It's not a panic buy, Rafa's been talking about an experienced striker for ages It is a bit of a panic buy, if we really wanted him we could have had him a lot earlier. What? Simple really, he clearly isn't the striker we wanted, and so having been turned down by the the others we have gone in for him with less than a week left. That doesn't make it a panic buy, that makes it signing someone who wasn't first choice. There's an obvious difference.

Also. His record is good in this division, he's a fine squad player in the same way that Hanley and Clark are. It's worth repeating, not every signing needs to be amazing. Rafa's building a squad. I also don't care about things like player development, team/club before individuals.

They're both shite. They're both acceptable squad players in this division. Stop being ridiculous.
-
Ryder's been pretty accurate with transfers recently, though, hasn't he?
-
Not that bothered, really. Haven't seen him put in consistent performances for a while now and his distribution is a constant negative. What we've got is good enough for this league. If we need to upgrade next season, Rafa will sort it.
-
I've read that 4 times and I've no idea what it's supposed to say. So there's no players in League 1 who could play in the Championship? Nonsense.
-
Sigh, why am I even bothering..... You do realise stunting a player's development lowers their ceiling, don't you?
-
I know nothing about this lad but it feels like the sort of signing that doesn't happen without Rafa here.

I can't find anything earlier than my last ten posts
