Exactly, which is why I think how we set out next season will tell us a lot, if we look a bit more progressive I'll applaud him. If we start the season playing as negatively as we are now he needs replacing immediately because we'll only ever stand still at best under a manager like that.
  2. classic, more worried about people having a go at anyone involved with the club than the result

i agree it's too much just now but all the signs are there for the way it's gonna go with pardew like, kid yourself all you want in a nutshell, a nut that happens to be correct.

    LOL at Lolro

fucking hate it when he backs us to win
  5. Potentially, yes. But only that. As Rob says above, it doesn't mean we have something to fall back on. So the better of the two possible outcomes for us then, sweet. I would much rather we qualified on merit and Liverpool lost agonisingly tbh. Naturally, unfortunately it's not looking like we merit much at the minute. I'd also much rather we won the league.

  7. talk about permutations all you want, Liverpool winning is more beneficial to us than Cardiff winning, surely there's no argument about that?
  8. Perhaps, imo though just like the constant Hughton/Pardew debate that comes up, that's not the important point. The important point is should he have been given more of a chance this season? Obviously he should have, Pardew's massively at fault for that.
  9. Liverpool miss their first two pens and still win it, everyone piling on Reina at the end, he didnt save one penalty Ah well, better for us imo, most important thing
  10. I agree, which is why I've accused him of bottling it a few times this season, Liverpool was the worst. Like I said elsewhere it's only gonna take one or two upgrades to the first team for Pardew to look like the weak link every single week unless he changes his mindset.
  11. The moron count is getting scaring high in here. I've said this before and I'll repeat it, find an example of Ben Arfa being lazy. An example of him not being technically good at tackling or heading doesn't count, find an example to back up your shite, you won't, because there aren't any. The fact that we've even lowered ourselves to this debate is sickening, he's a fucking playmaker who creates things, not a carthorse there to stop the other team playing, we don't need 11 of those players on the pitch every single week. Bobby would be shaking his head at so many of you clueless twats, Pardew included.
  12. Heh? If Cardiff win any chance of 7th, where we are quite likely to finish, being good enough for Europe is gone (will go to Cardiff).. And if Liverpool win and we finish 6th? Wouldn't affect our chances I don't think. Would be dependent on the FA Cup finalists.. That's how I understood it anyway.. For us to finish 7th and qualify for Europe it'd need Liverpool to win today and finish above us and one of Chelsea, Liverpool or Spurs to win the FA cup and finish above us. All in all, despite my dislike for Liverpool, I think a Liverpool win would be best for our European prospects this season.. This, and I absolutely detest the cunts. Love for nufc comes first though.

It's bloody meaningless anyway Dave. 'I just feel that if I had the conviction to attack Wolves at home we wouldnt have dropped two points'. That'd be the truth.
  15. Tell you what needs to stop, his arse being on the bench at the start of the game while we continue to be unable to break down teams like Wolves and Swansea at home.

this, it would seem to make sense to me that a young manager would look at us as a club they could make their name at. terrific policy on incoming players, managers in the continent especially who are used to being given a squad to work with.

This is the crux of it for me, I'm expecting a sinking feeling during the first few games of next season as we go out and play exactly the same way. If he changes his style I'll applaud him for it but how likely do you think it is that the football's gonna change? You've said it needs to change fast but there's no way I can see it happening this season. If our scouts continue to bring in quality players there's a big chance that Pardew could be the weak link most weeks next season imo, which is why I wouldn't be against replacing him in the summer. I wouldn't criticise if he was kept on as well btw, I can appreciate both sides of the argument.
  18. Will fully make my mind up on him next season. He's gotten stuck in his approach to the first few games of this season which was don't concede and score if the opposition let you. Needs to change the philosophy with the players we've got. I'm trying to hold onto the belief that next season with upgrades in the wide positions he'll try and play football and we'll get better. But we've had an upgrade in both the wide positions sitting on the bench all season and Pardew's spent the entire time reminding everyone what he's not very good at. I'm losing faith in him fast.
  19. Beyond obvious he should be starting instead of Ryan Taylor at home to Wolves. Absolutely gutted that he's gonna be forced out of nufc by Alan Pardew. I wonder which one will have more success after they leave the club. Pardew's managed to fuck this up beyond belief, twat.
  20. do you want to rethink that- we beat wolves 2-0 at half time, I just think we'll win it and that we'll be 2-0 up by half time. I appreciate that they've improved but I think their style of football being played by Sunderland players at St James Park can only work if they've got a shit load of bottle, and they haven't.

There's no chance Ashley will sack Keegan, there's no chance Ashley won't appoint Shearer full time, there's no chance Ashley won't rename our fucking ground!

Put a fork in him, he's done for me like. End of the season would be perfect. We know when a player isn't good enough or when a player has topped out his potential and Pardew for me is in that boat. He's done his job, he won't take us further and is holding us back. We've got 8-9 players who are top class, best we've had in ages and he had 7-8 of them available today and he made us look like a conference team on a bad run of form. I've found myself be surprisingly supportive of him, but have recently been quietly disappointed with his inability on match days but today really is the match that's got me pissed off to the point of I've lost faith, and he's lost my support. I know I'll get it's too soon, I also know everyone will be saying the same thing in time, it's inevitable. I'm starting to edge toward this after today's game. All season I've praised the overall job he's done but there's always been a nagging doubt, especially with the likes of Liverpool away and Brighton 'performances' and countless others really. Today was just a continuation of that scared negative defend first attack if they let you mindset, I even posted in the pre match thread saying it's a massive opportunity to get our attacking game going but we knew what we'd get, Pardew was true to form. We started off the season with the aim of being hard to beat, we haven't progressed one inch as a team. I honestly think that if we got a progressive, balanced manager in with an eye for how to attack teams some people would be surprised at how well the majority of our first team can actually play football.
