On the face of it that's good news, if Pardew keeps selecting him ahead of HBA however...

Don't like his name

Arsenal vs Newcastle United - 12/03/12 @ 8pm (live on Sky) - pre-match thread
Dr Venkman replied to Dave's topic in Football
I'd be astonished if Pardew reverted to leaving Santon out at the expense of Raylor. Surely any excuse for that evaporated with our early defensive record? -
Just brings us back to same argument imo. No-one has ever disputed HBA's lack of defensive ability (NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH EFFORT). However, in the majority of games we should be focused on attacking the other team, and you only need a pair of eyes to see he's our most creative midfielder. We don't need 11 defenders, it's as simple as that.

I had to read that bolded bit five times
-
someone make a SUAREZ 2012 video, i'd donate towards getting rid of that cunt
-
It might be worrying if he wasn't as mad as a box of frogs, just normal service for Hatem I think.

Cabaye's question is interesting : "Since your return from injury, you compare the muscles of your legs in the mirror in the dressing room. You worry whether your left quadriceps is as voluminous as the right. After your injury last season, did you get back at 100% ?" HBA : "It's true that I look at it. I lost so much on the left that I was afraid it may not return. I worked and I worked but without improvement. Now, I'm at 90% on that leg. So, I'll stop looking soon." Very interesting, always though it'd be next season before we see him back at his best. Really hoping it'll be in black and white!

Have to say I thought all the Chelsea fans chanting for Torres to take it even as Mata was spotting the ball was bang out of order. Fair enough but not as he's actually taking his run up ffs, they were right behind the goal as well, no wonder the penalty was awful Bunch of absolute idiots man.

btw did we ever get a translation of the France Football article?

Was thinking yesterday how it's pretty amusing that O'Neill WILL continue his disastrous transfer policy and they've already got a head start by giving long contracts to O'Shea and Brown
-
Oh I'm rattled alright, god only knows what talents O'Neill will unearth before next season!

Newcastle 1 - 1 Sunderland - 04/03/12 - post-match reaction from page 42
Dr Venkman replied to Beren's topic in Football
Because regardless of what happened during the match he's been the bigger man in the aftermath and apologised, therefore it's much easier to pin the blame on him. O' Neill on the other hand is still fucking moaning about us despite already been called on his lying about us visiting the ref. -
He honestly called a press conference just to talk about us? What a bloody idiot. Let's hope that by next season we've got a team looking to play a bit of football and we'll blow these lot away twice, our recruitment is already streets ahead of theirs and they'll bring in more old men. Ironically enough if O' Neill wasn't so shit in the transfer Market they'd be celebrating 3 points because Bridge was completely at fault for our goal. Twats man, I just want them to fuck off now, even though we get points from them every year they're such an irritating bunch of cave men I can't be arsed with them anymore.

That's one of the key points. People keep assuming that by playing a more defensive system Pardew has somehow cost us points. How do we not know that Pardew's caution has not won points during this season? You make a good point, however I'd add that good management is about knowing when to adopt certain strategies, not deciding on one and sticking to it stubbornly whether it works or not. We've had our fair share of managers who've done that here recently so a lot of people are wise to the pit falls, good league position or not. At home to Wolves, Swansea, QPR for example, you play your best attacking players and have a go. So whilst I'd say Pardew's defensive approach has certainly won us points this season, the points away at QPR, Man U and Blackburn particularly, where the defensively minded drilled capabilities of our team helped us grind out results, i think he's cost us just as many points if not more by being too cautious.
-
Still pleased as punch that he's saying here for the rest of his career like
-
There was a moment when he nicked it past a defender and it looked as if it was going out but he sped up considerably and kept it in, he looked as fast as he ever has then.

anyone know if Colo's son was one of the mascots yesterday? -
What about a team playing to something near it's potential? Or looking like we might be moving towards it? Again, next season will be the real judge of whether Pardew's ever gonna do it but there's alarm bells ringing for me and they're getting louder every week.
-
absolutely love the way he lets the ball roll across his body so his first touch is an aggressive one, just really want to see him given an extended run in the team.
-
that would be utterly bizarre, surely they'd start lower than that?
