  1. and bang, here comes my betfair money
  2. exactly, and he can do this because he's such a good manager. if he was shit, would any of us give a fuck? would there be a 122 page thread on it in a day and a half? would anyone have been protesting outside the ground? (radgies or not). no, if he was crap the general consensus would have been, ok, next, and he'd be gone. its the fact that he's such a good manager, and that he's so right for nufc that he's able to stand up for his principles, and good on him i say. there's not enough people willing to put principles high on their list of importance these days, especially in football.
  3. my dad said to me recently 'when i was your age i used to think i'd be 60 before i saw us win anything, now i think i'll be dead'
  4. praying they all sort out their differences like, i like the direction ashley's taking us and my support for keegan will never change
  5. i should bloody hope he's not taking training, he's got more important things to do at the minute
  6. and if he's going to walk out over milner, smith and barton you have to question him. thats bloody ridiculous, if this is the issue he's not walking because of the quality/lack of quality of the players, he's walking because of the principle that players shouldnt be sold without his consent, i'd like to hear a convincing argument that this should be the case It costs the club money to keep the likes of Smith here on 60k a week. That's not a principle it's a bill. yeah you're right, thats not a principle, its a weekly wage, so you've confused two issues. one is who should be in charge of who leaves and doesnt leave the club, the second is how much should we pay those coming in. keegan certainly wasnt responsible for the second in the case of smith, but he obviously wants to be in charge of the first, and i agree with him, i'm yet to hear a convincing argument otherwise, would you like to provide one?
  7. I would rather go with the comments made by the Uruguayan fans than the comments of a Spanish UK based reporter who I doubt watches much Uruguayan footie. I posted the replies of several Uruguayan fans regarding Gonzalez in the thread earlier and they all said his main position is as a "attacking centre midfielder or can play on the left side of midfield if needed". fair enough, he certainly looked like an attacking mid to me on the comp
  8. Freddy Shepherd? NE5 Would go into meltdown having Ashley and Shepherd on the same board At least the old board vs new board bollocks would end. Everyone would be happy. praise jesus, i've seen the light. someone draw up a 'Freddie for MD!' banner right now

  10. anyone saying its the end for mike ashley is a bit short sited imo, IF they can work out their differences, all it would take would be a well worded statement from keegan and ashley to get everyone buying him pints again
  11. have you considered that the club may not know if he's still going to be our manager or not tomorrow? Well in that case, why doesnt Keegan come and tell us what he's doing. We deserve answers. i cant argue with that, we'll just have to hope its sorted tomorrow and we find out asap. he does care about us though, dont worry about that.

  13. The fact that there seems to have been two days of meetings with not much coming out makes me hope that things are really being sorted out. Hopefully KK is older and wiser now, and Ashley is a good enough businessman to know when he needs to compromise to keep a star man in his organisation. Conflict is normal in big business like this, it's how you work it through that decides if you'll be a success. exactly. this is how the world works. not, keegan wants to keep barton, ashley doesnt, so keegan must be sacked or resign. people are actually capable of reaching compromise through reason.
  14. how on earth can you possibly know that? this is a manager that rightly or wrongly, threatens to walk out when he doesnt get his way, he's done it here before, and his plan worked, what in the official statement makes you think it hasnt worked again?
  15. there's no-one here that wants kk to stay more than me, but have a word
  16. If there was nothing going on don't you think they'd come out and say so? i'm not suggesting there's nothing going on
  17. anyone else starting to think we're not gonna get a statement from the club today? and does anyone think that had kk left, been fired, whatever, he would just come out and say so? he'll know how worried everyone is about it
  18. praised their first managerial appoinment, praised the signings, he thinks they're doing a good job
  19. i dont believe anything until its official, regardless of what i'd like the outcome to be, i'm sorry but you cant trust the word of the press alone
  20. you're a season ticket? can my mate borrow you for the hull game?
  21. gullem ballaugue (sp?) was just on ssn, he seemed to suggest this lad was a right winger, said something along the lines of valencia signed him because jouqain threatened to leave, but when he decided to stay they 'had 2 players for the right wing position so let him go'
  22. all we need now is for someone to post a picture of some pennies falling into a glass of water and i'll throw my laptop out of the fucking window
