  1. he'll be off to america surely? no reason not too now that he's not in the england setup, and he'll get paid even more than he was on with us.
  2. As a Newcastle fan with a Geordie accent I find that hugely embarrassing and completely wrong. I hope you appreciate that this likely goes for the vast, vast majority of us. this, that bloke's a cunt.
  3. as the SAFC chants then I agree, I don't give a flying fuck about them until they are in the same league/ground getting their ass handed to them. what? slagging off your local rivals at every opportunity is integral to football support. i have to say i've noticed this sort of thing a lot. yesterday at the match the bloke next to me had ONE response to passages of play, shaking his head, i never saw him applaud or praise anything, at all, in a match that we won 3-0. fucking miserable bastards.
  4. on the basis of the last two games i wouldnt want him dropped tbh, i've been his harshest critic at times but credit where credit's due, he's looked effective.
  5. What i 'love' is when people make reasoned arguments and then decimate them in one fell swoop by trying to attribute individual opinions to everyone at once.
  6. i'm in the centre of town, there's a bit of snow on the ground but not much really, cant see it being an issue.
  7. different strokes, best view is from east stand imo but i also appreciate being able to see the flow of the game from level 7.
  8. go to the newcastle arms before the match, its a proper pub with great pre match atmosphere, really packed and busy but surprisingly doesnt take too long to get served. its also about 1 minutes walk from SJP. dont fucking go to whitley bay.
  9. are you familiar with the word 'confidence' and how it can affect a footballers performance?
  10. it's just actually dawned on me that this is tonight, feels so weird having a game on a friday
  11. Not average for this league though. How many other Championship sides have a collection of defenders that cost £15-£20 million and a collection of midfielders that cost £15-£20 million? If you're trying to say that the midfield isn't average then got to say you're wrong. On price they're worth more than most, but on ability they're shizzite. The midfield certainly look poor a lot of the time - but are they really that bad or is the manager not getting it right either with his team selection or with his tactics? BTW I don't claim to know the answer to that question. they're really that bad. no amount of coaching will improve nicky butt's passing, or kevin nolan's unwillingness to get fit, or alan smith's refusal to turn towards the opponents goal when he's got ten yards of space at least on all sides. and that's barely skimming the surface of their deficiencies.
  12. obviously them going down would be better but i'm more than happy to live with them having a shit season and just staying up.
  13. imagine, just imagine. if he comes here and does well, this might actually be the end of shola
  14. 23? strong? fast? 9 goals this season in our division? WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?
  15. bags of potential imo, skillful, pretty quick, decent finish. he pisses all over all our strikers thats for sure.
  16. that would make sense, as he mentions us being the PLAYERS preferred option, but money talks. i.e. money didnt affect the selling club, but the player.
  17. Caulkin saying this... 'Nufc definitely after another striker, but have to be honest, I don't know who it is.'
  18. Yeah he apparently gets to games whenever he can and is often seen out in town. being a twat
  19. this, we must get promoted at all costs, and next year we've got to stay up. you bring in the younguns when we're comfortably safe in the league AND they look like they'll add something.
  20. It will say alot about Ashley if he allows Whelan to win the battle without a fight. i'm not sure i want the club to be ran on the premise of out doing a different club no matter what the issue. we should be looking after ourselves and forgetting about the fortunes of every one else.
  21. You can see why Liverpool let him go. He's weak as piss and loses the ball far too easily. That's the point. But how's that relevant at all? Liverpool let him go because he's not good enough for Liverpool, he is good enough for us. He isn't good enough for us for the same reasons he was allowed to leave Liverpool. Like I said he's too weak and loses possession and hope. He can't even make a mark dropping down a division. All this bollocks about him being played out of position doesn't excuse him for losing 50/50's and not being able to hold the ball under the slightest pressure. and that pressure comes a lot faster when you're playing in the middle. unless you pretend you're a centre half like a butt and smith and only ever face our goal.
  22. can see why he'd do it though mate, they're a selling club, he has a couple of good seasons and he'll end up in a decent team.
