I wouldn’t know. I like him a lot, would prefer him not to leave.
-
EH is very big on squad vibes, he often talks about how it should be protected at all costs. Tripps has spent the last few months trying to leave. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he lets him go.

More projection than a 35mm film festival.

Whether or not you’re happy about the result has nothing to do with the quality of the performance. Today’s game plan was clear and obvious to anyone watching, and it worked. It was very intentional on the part of the head coach and the team carried it out, and won, I’d call that a good performance. Bruce played the same in every game. Anyone suggesting Howe has done that in the past or is likely to do so based on one game (in which we achieved our objective) is just saying stuff for the sake of it or being disingenuous.

The thing is, when you go out of your way to have an opinion on everything, sometimes you make yourself look stupid.
-
So now you’re listing loads of things that are down to individual errors/players and expecting us to forget you just tried to draw a Bruce/Pardew game plan comparison? We won the game today, you know that don’t you?
-
We played that way as a very specific response to the way Spurs play, it worked. It’s not Bruce or Pardew, that’s an extremely narrow-minded view devoid of context. Some people seem incapable of watching us play without the ball (intentionally) and appreciating the plan. Football isn’t solely about having the most possession, I would have thought that was obvious to anyone who’s watched a bit.
-
We limited them to poor quality chances (1.3 XG). The only lucky thing about the game was their goal.
-
We won the game tactically today. It’s just difficult to watch because we didn’t have much of the ball. The team was setup intentionally to do what it did. We got three points, tactically.
-
This man knows ball.
-
What's your point, Jackie?
-
We limited them to poor quality chances, that’s the game plan along with hitting them on the break. They only score from two consecutive individual errors. That was a textbook ‘how to beat Spurs’ set up today.
-
You know we intentionally didn’t press them today, don’t you?
-
Nailed it, again.

Gonna miss the start of the game someone please post the Sandro display. -
Agreed. An ill thought through overspend would have been a worse start.

I thought that said a lot about Sean, taking last pen, given how much stick he gets. -

I think Sandro starts as long as he isn’t feeling any effect of his first competitive run out for ages earlier in the week. If he’d been a sub and had 30 mins on Wed I’d be leaning sub today, but he started and got (I think) an hour. That suggests a start today IMO. -

Thank fuck for this game of football. Sandro to have a stormer and an Isak hat trick. -
I don't think any sensible transfer strategy can be conducted on the basis of 'if we don't buy player x, player y may want to leave'. It seems to be based on principle but is far too nebulous a concept because we're dealing with individuals with their own motivation, not robots.
