  1. Here we go again then which particular number chance would this one be?
  2. .......................Given Beye......Roz.............Taylor......Enrique Milner.....Smith........Faye........N'Zoggy ............Ameobi.....Martins No excuses for that 11 not to win tonight, all paid fantastic money, all got good profesional level experience, and 5 Allardyce signings in the starting line up. We also have Milner on the back 4 most people wanted, Milner and Zoggy on the wings and Martins up front, as most people wanted. Any idea of Subs? forster emre geremi butt edgar
  3. just joined via link in your sig, see you for kick off
  4. why did my dad have to go and leave me! > coz you slagged off owen too much? hes took his lass to the game and staying overnight, he said it was to expensive for me to go > even though i wouldve paid! He thinks you will cramp his style well he's trying to get his end away tbh, Kev. surely mention of his dads end is a bit offside?

  6. Man City? The team we are 2 points behind with a game in hand you mean, who have spent £50m quid or something? ...no the team who have been playing good cogent football since the start of the season which inc a win over Man Utd. wo ho there tiger, step away from the poppy plated bi-focals, they got absolutely f****** battered against man u, granted they've been playing well but they haven't set the standard to say the least, i've seen them look just as clueless as us They've played ManU, Arsenal and Villa in thier opening matches and won 2 out of 3 of those. I'd be overjoyed with similar results against those sides. oh, so would i, i just think to write off the (usually) well known fact that it takes a new manager, team, set of coaches a while to bring things together by pointing at man city and saying 'well they're playing better than us and they've just started' is a touch naive to say the least. unless of course you're just playing devils advocate, which i dont really see the point of in this case. sometimes the exception proves the rule. It was a simple couter to this new side/bedding in/ argument and the first that came to mind. Out of interest I think Villa are also looking extremely good but he's had an extra year which I accept SA will need. yeah i was impressed with villa at sjp, good team

  8. Not the team i'd pick, as i'd go more posiively with a 442 especially since their not at full strength. But i have a feeling your probably right in guessing BSA's team . BSA seems to like to nulify the oppositions attacking threat 1st. Possible differences being Faye and Milner out for Butt and Zoggy. He still may surprise us all sticking with Zoggy LB, although this seems the perfect chance for Enrique. tbh i dont think zog left back would be such a surprise, safety first
  9. good luck getting it in mourinho, i'm pretty sure he's married though

  11. Both Smith and Ameobi have terrible goalscoring records. Both were shocking against Derby. It's a tough one to call for me, but I think Ameobi is happier playing with his back to goal than Smith and we'll need that against Arsenal. If we try and outplay them at the Emirates we're asking for trouble. Ameobi is terrible at converting crosses and his hold up play is very hit and miss I agree, but I don't see how Smith will do that job any better. because he's a better footballer? i'm not basing my opinion on these two players solely on the game against derby like, i'm talking about their entire careers, smith is a better forward than ameobi, i mean, haway
  12. ok, i dont want this to appear like a one man crusade against shola in a number of diferent threads, but are you joking? he's fucking terrible in the air!
  13. Which is exactly why he was a waste of money when we have 4 better strikers than him in terms of goalscoring (IMO). Shola? You must be joking. He's not a better goalscorer than Smith now? emm, no, he's not, bearing in mind that a lot of these games smith would have played in midfield.looking at this evidence alone (which would be negligent in the extreme but i'm just covering myself) i'd say the best you could put ameobi on would be on a par with smith, and given that shola spends most of his time falling over and getting caught offside, of the two, i'd go with smith Alan Smith 1998-2004 Leeds United 172 (38) 2004-2007 Manchester United 061 (7) 2007- Newcastle United 005 (0) a goal every 5.2 games Shola Ameobi 2000- Newcastle United 166 (28) a goal every 5.9 games Disregarding substitute appearances (Ameobi has 30 more substitute appearances than Smith), it comes out in favour of Ameobi (1 goal every 3.4 games to Smith's 1 goal every 4.4 games). Then, I have to concede that Smith has more appearances as a midfielder than Ameobi but, in turn, he played these games for a successful attacking team that scored more goals and created more chances than Ameobi did. I don't think that there's any definitive way to prove which one is the better goalscorer in terms of statistics. I'm sticking with my opinion. to that i would add that smith was played as a defensive midfielder for the team in question, however i think you're right about the statistics, between the two of them its much of a muchness, on the pitch however, i just fail to see how anyone can say ameobi is currently a better option upfront with either martins/owen

  15. does everyone really think that he'll start beye after how knackered he was at the end of sundays game? might be too soon and leave him open to injury, i think he'll rest vid aswell, we can only hope that its smith that replaces him and not shouldnt ameobi
  16. and as if all that wasn't good enough, ameobi not even on the BENCH!!!
  17. Nah, I'm just going off what people are saying. Of course I watched it and again you're talking s****. He was no worse or no better than Michael Owen or any of the other forwards on display. You may rank a few extra runs or a few extra touches as worthy of extra point but at the end of the day neither Owen or Ameobi did f*** all meaningful in the time they were on and that's all that matters. Oh and I'm not defending him or anyone for your information, just pointing out facts and the idiocy in singling out the one player, a player who has become a scapegoat and boo boy for the woes of NUFC it seems. A player who let me remind everyone is short of real match practice btw. Want to single out people? Look at the midfield and those whose jobs it is to provide sufficient enough service for the forwards to feed off. If the Red Cross were watching last night they'd write in their match report "Owen and Ameobi starved, send a parcel" nah, i'm sorry mate, normally i have a lot of time for your views on here but ameobi was definitely worse than owen, reason being that owen controlled the ball AT LEAST once when it was played to him and wasn't caught offside 18 times, oh, and definitley not from a free kick for fucks sake. ameobi is a generally poor player who we've stuck with on the strength of a few glimpses of skill and a few finishes, and what the managers must see on the training ground. we've seen it all before, a player never ever lives up their billing where it counts, on the pitch, and it seems that we're the mugs who carry on fielding them. ameobi is shit
  18. i'd just like to point out for the record that i think pretty much all of the team were shite last night, i'm not making ameobi a scapegoat at all, ask me what i think of his play after he scores a hat trick against man u, i can promise you it'll be no pace, no touch, no anticipation, no quality in the air, no skill, no finish, no pass
  19. I think Enrique would have been in if he was fit. I agree that Zog has to be moved to midfield, but I think that, based on tonight's performance, Taylor deserved to be out there before Rozenhal. Roz was consistently beaten, and seemed out of sorts when the pace was picked up. Even before the game, I looked at the lineup and thought that we have too many defensive midfielders, and no strong attacking midfielder. The performance proved me right. It's all good to think that Barton will be coming back soon, but we need more options (and Smith isn't one of them). In the end, though, Allardyce did bring in good defensive options, and I'm not going to jump down his throat because he couldn't bring in another attacking CM before the deadline. We should demand better, but we should also realize that Rome wasn't built in a day, and Sam is doing his best to improve the squad. fair enough, taylor did play well tonight, personally though i prefer roz
