  1. He will have a hell of work to do at man city though.... Personally i think they could be one of the favourites to get relegated. I think they will have better luck next season especially when they will have a lot of money to spend if the takeover indeed happens. Its been ages. Isnt it the same guy that tried to buy Liverpool...? Seems abit of a shifty character if you ask me.... hes been tryin to buy different clubs for years, but been unsuccessful, so what are the clubs finding out about him to not allow the takeover to continue? is he demanding to much or something?? Didn't think the Thai had shown any interest in any club other than Citeh. That's definitely the same guy who wanted liverpool. He was Thai PM when he wanted Liverpool, but that fell apart, can't remember why. Wasn't he actually overthrown in some kind of coup? Seem to remember something like that. Anyway, he does sound dodgy, but loaded nonetheless... He didn't try to "buy" Liverpool as such, he only had a go at getting a 30% stake...I think it was David Moores holdings. And that might have been with Thai lottery moneys rather than the moneys he got when he sold his company. I don't remember exactly. whats happened? Something about his party being corrupted in Thailand I think. 2 executive members of his Tie Rack party were found guilty of being naughty boys at the last election...Nothing major. Nothing to do with him as such. He doesn't sound that bad at all to me...you've been having this "Is Barton moral?" dealie on here, this Shinawatra dealie has been done to death on City sites, I'm behind him. He will have a hell of work to do at man city though.... Personally i think they could be one of the favourites to get relegated. If Pearce was still there, I would have agreed with you. If the Thai throws money at it to resolve the immediate problem, a high quality coach and sporting director could take the club a long way imo. Oh, make no mistake about it - If this takeover doesn't go thru, we WILL be relegated. Doesn't matter who would be in charge - Pearce, Souness, Fabio fucking Cappelo - We just have absolutely no team at the moment, and we don't have the finance to deal with it. Our only hope would be Richards (£££). We surely did. He played for the first team for about 3 minutes in total, in the closing stages of a cup win vs Soton. Reports from the reserves were positive, but I don't think he did enough to suggest he was that good. Should probably have been given more of a chance, but given our...circumstances (Ie, we were shite and heading for the drop for most of the time he was here)...not really the time to experiment.
  2. Ticks all the boxes. Good coach? Check. Not Graeme Souness? Check. ...and so on. Seriously tho, I don't know owt about him tho, other than he's done a great job at Sevilla and he once got KO'd by a coin. Had my heart set on Cloudy Rainy, he seemed perfect because of his ability to spend moneys, improve young players and play good football, I'd happily take anyone with similar characteristics, but I don't know who that is. Need to watch Eurosport more
  3. Stubbed a cigar in the eye of some youth player who was setting his shirt a blaze. Knocked 7 bells out of a French person (Dabo) Showed his arse to a bunch of arseholes. Assaulted a young Everton fan in Thailand, bit Richard Dunne's finger. Arrested on suspicion of criminal assault and criminal damage after an alleged argument with a taxi driver. Upset a few pricks who released books after a poor cup by saying "'We got beat in the quarter-finals. I played like s***. Here's my book." They may be a few more bits He also called Frank Lampard a fat cunt over breakfast with England if the interweb is to be believed But the thing that pissed us of most is the transfer request back last year.
  4. Sibierski and Wigan. Match made in heaven. Shite player for a shite club. Congratulations Antoine, you've finally found your level PS: WTF has he been eating? On that photo it looks like he's got a 50p shaped stomach to match his 50p head?
  5. I don't know whats happening. This takeover is perpetually going to happen "next month", all this takeover code BS is keeping concrete news quiet, we have no manager, the man we all wanted is off the market, we have basically no team whatsoever, and without a takeover it will stay that way...This is not a happy time :frantic:
  6. Panic Panic Panic :frantic: Can't blame him...you dont turn down a club like Juve, especially as no-one has a fucking clue what is going on with this "bid next month...." takeover bid. But I'm worried about who is left now. Best case scenario is now Sven or someone like that. But it could be much worse than that. :frantic:
  7. I doubt this has got owt to do with the court case. Altho I had the idea that he was in court 18/6 (Two weeks today, which matches the Chronicle story), I can't find owt to back it up(I did read he's on bail till 11/7). More likely that the reason for you wanting to wait is you dont have the cash to pay and need to get your hands on the Parker moneys to pay us, rather than trying to screw us over in case he gets sent down, which apparently isn't going to be decided for a good while.
  8. USA, Ghana, Czech Republic! I'm still wondering whats happened to all the Ivory Coast players. They were my outstanding memory of the tournament, I thought they were awesome. And there was that Holland-Portugal game with a bajillion cards that everyone made a fuss over, even though when I was watching the game I thought most of them were justified.
  9. Or get Viduka for nowt. True.... I was just thinking about the future a bit, what with Ashton being younger. Also if he stays a WHU this season and as I suspect, knocks some goals in and generally puts some good performances in, his value with go up by the end of it. Not sure he will get a look in if W-Ham sign Bent or Johnson. Hopefully not then he can come join us the season after next Ashton wants to sign for City. Wanted to sign for us when he went to West Ham but we couldn't meet the asking price. Still wants to come here. Fact.
  10. I'd be embarrased if I was a West Ham fan. Couldn't deal with watching a team where it was so blatant that most of them are only there for the money. They shouldn't have to stoop so low either, I know they're no Barcelona but they're not exactly Wigan either. They should be able to get some players in - especially players of the calibre Curbs seem to be going after (ie, average) without offering them silly money. If I were a WH fan I'd prefer it if they would sign someone who actually wanted to play for the club rather than the moneys.
  11. Eh...If Pennant went to Jail, Barton could go to Jail. Maybe no for long, but could happen...
  12. Strange isn't it. He's due in court two weeks tomorrow (err...today) charged with assault, which he is obviously guilty of, and he was already on bail, also for assault. Really can't see how he's not going to be sent down? Strange you've not held off until after the court case. Wonder what this clause is all about, surely they can't make us buy him back?
  13. Glad he's gone. Good player, but no-one is worth all the aggro that comes as part of the deal with. Is anyone going to run a sweepstake on how long its going to be before his next "incident"? I bet he can't make it till christmas . Hell, he might be in Prison before June is out. PS: I read something a few pages back - JB has never captained Manchester City for any length of time.
  14. Alan Shearer is an absolutely atrocious pundit. I mean, Ian Wright atrocious. WTF is he talking about? Main positive was the Midfield balance? excellent allegedly...despite Gerrard not being able to get forward, and Lampard being shite today (his words, paraphrasing). So the midfield was excellent - because the good one had to babysit for the shite one, who did fuck all. PS: Barry should be in central midfield with Gerrard, and David Bentley should be on the right. I bet they could string more than 3 passes together. Bump Barry left if someones taped Hargreaves leg back together yet
  15. Claudio Ranieri at the game there...come to tap up Kaka obviously Good to see he's in London and not Turin tho MotM: Corner flag.
  16. England would be a much better team if they picked players who know how to use possesion such as Barry or Bentley, instead of these bunch overrated one trick pony muppets who are only in the side because they play for big clubs and can do stuff that looks good on TV. How long will it be till and England manager actually puts out an XI that can look after the ball I thought a Man city fan would be happy to see any type of goal, I mean you chaps have saw less goal action then us. Do you prefer these speed freak wingers who cant cross or score to play? I prefer to have a player who is willing to pass it to a teammate under 70 yards away. And I think its rediculous that Beckham has been recalled - after many, many poor performances - before David Bentley has even played 1 second of international football.
  17. Oh FFS. What Beckham just did there - picking the ball up 80 yards from the opposition goal, turning hitting a "raking ball", right onto the centre half's head - annoys the fuck out of me. And its why he never should have been brought back. One trick fucking pony, I don't care if he can hit a set piece. Give some other cunt a game please. Someone who knows how to keep possesion
  18. Smith off eh. I'd just like to take this opportunity to congratulate Alan on earning another cap. Well deserved, there can be no doubt about that. He's certainly one of the most technically gifted players ever to pull on the shirt, and his peerless goalscoring record more than justifies his selection. I'd also like to congratulate Mr McClaren on making the decision to include him in the first place, however obvious it may have been - as a player of Smith's ability would have definetly been selected no matter who he plays for, the fact that he played in a few relatively major games recently is just a coincidence. Bravo to all concerned. Bravo.
  19. Shinned it. Blatantly Distin vs Villa btw. Not seen owt of the first half...just tuned in now. Hows it gone? Beckham stayed wide? Got to the byline? Used possesion intelligently? Smith controlled a ball? Lampard made any impact whatsoever?
  20. Sorry, Dr. Spectrum, turns out the cheats want him too. I choose to write off the above as foriegn tabloid BS. For no other reason than I don't want to believe it. Still coming to City as far as I'm concerned
  21. Jamie Carragher is a competent full back. Alan Smith fully deserves his call up. And Gerrard/Lampard is going to work. ...ya, i couldn't find a working pic of a sarcasm detector...
  22. Yakubu got 2 goals in the entire cup run. One of them was a penalty. And weren't they in relegation danger with a couple of games to go?
  23. I used to like him way back, he was an absolute beast when we played Pompey in the first league game at the CoMS, unplayable. Came back 18 months later at the end of the season Perrin was in charge, jeebus, it was like the rest of the team had repeatedly run over his cat. Could not be arsed one bit. Had a downer on him since. Can see he picks his games, he hardly ever scores past february. And if you're gonna sign Viduka, I think you do well to avoid having two game-picking mercenaries in your side, didn't exactly work out for Boro in the long run...
