  1. I met him back in his Chelsea days. Seemed like a nice fella. I imagine lots of footballers are completely different off the pitch.
  2. Totally agree. The atmosphere at the scottish clubs blows away just about every premiership club, and certainly puts our ground to shame. By the way, if anyone finds the atmosphere that used to be at Newcastle can they return it to Mr C Mort, Newcastle United FC, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 4ST. The toon Ultras are at least trying to look for it, but can't get past the big pile of prawn sandwiches that seem to have appeared over the last few years. Assuming you're right and the atmosphere is better (which I find hard to believe outside of derby matches since there's about 6/7/8 shitty empty grounds that make Ewood Park look like a packed out Nou Camp)... don't you think that the atmosphere at Scottish clubs would suffer if they had the exposure, glamour and money, as well as all the corporate fans that come with it, that our league has gathered over the past 10 years?
  3. Hibs have a lot of good young players and play some nice passing football I don't think they do much in our league though and I expect them to finish 3rd or 4th come the end of the season
  4. How many of those goals were penalties? I'd guess, a sizeable amount. And are you counting his season in the Championship with Portsmouth in that appearance/goals ratio? Yakubu is so unsuited to our team for so many reasons it's ridiculous. I said from the first day we were linked him that I didn't want him here because he would be a failure, another Beattie. Everything we've seen so far suggests I was completely right, he's actually been worse than I predicted he would be. I'll eat my hat if he's a success at Everton. johnnypd- Yakubu and Johnson couldn't be more different. Confused by your comments there.
  5. Or we could just hire a manager who knows what the word "tactic" means. We'd do okay then. Moyes got out of jail big time tonight. Anichebe & Lescott did. Can't understand why you signed Yakubu at all Me neither, said so at the time. Lazy, fat, shocking first touch and requires service on a plate to score goals and the whole team to be built around him. That just won't happen at Everton. That's before we even consider the price tag! Awful signing.

  7. He is, you missed out big time, dithered over making an offer when we got him. James Vaughan is Villa as well
  8. I'd rather just get knocked out than go to extra time. If by some miracle we win a penalty shoot out for once we'll just get embarassed by Spartak Valdikafkaz playing this primitive hoofball. Even the shape and organisation is pathetic, it's like watching a gang of school kids running round the playground. Lescott might as well be playing on his own here.
  9. That could be the worst I've ever seen us play in my 21 years. Fucking disgraceful.
  10. 1,500 fans in the Ukraine. Pretty good turnout considering most people had to get 1 or 2 flights and then go on a 7 hour train journey from Kiev to Kharkiv. I never went because I thought we'd get through easy and there would be better trips to come... Everton like to make you sweat.
  11. Dida, Liverpool & Benitez have provided me with endless amusement tonight
  12. You don't even know where Birkdale is do you?
  13. Funny how this comes out after Elano grabs all the headlines in a game against Newcastle Total bollocks I reckon

I can't. Jol is toast, still. Let's not forget, we left them off the hook at 4-1 down at home tonight, they were really very lucky. OK, Agbonlahor was o/s for one of our goals, but there was a cast iron penalty for us which we didn't get and Defoe persistently offside for their equaliser. Then Marlon put his big f****** mutant dinosaur head foot in, the stupid c***. They've been very, very lucky indeed, and running around like they've won the league is probably a sign of how desperate things have got there, and makes them look a bit smalltime. To be fair, when you come back like that, whether it's to draw or win & whether it's against a great team or an average one you're going to be buzzing. The stewards would have been on suicide watch at 4-1.

This kind of thing is why a lot of people seem to dislike Spurs, so much hype and rubbish in the media over nothing It annoys me but Spurs themselves, I don't really mind tbh

Fucks sake! Crazy game. Villa are bloody useless, how can you lose at 4-1?! We all wanted to laugh at Spurs.

Ashley Young and a decent keeper would have been a better investment.

When we played them at WHL on Sky it was like watching Spurs TV. The result made up for it though.
  21. FFS. I was delighted for a second then. Our next home game is the derby.
