I would be interested to see what he has spent, always thought he had spent a fair bit there... I think they gave him a decent amount to spend when they first got promoted to the Premiership and after getting relegated last year to make sure they bounced back straight away. Apart from that they haven't give him much. If you look at his transfer dealings this summer he did pretty well for both numbers and quality on a small budget. He'd get double his money back on Kapo now. De Ridder and Palacios were good finds on a free transfer and nominal fee respectively, good technical footballers. Djourou was an astute loan signing and if Borja Oubina hadn't got a season ending injury he would have done the business for them on loan too. The lad has got a couple of Spain caps. Bit of a poor mans Xabi Alonso. Although he did sign Liam Ridgewell for some reason and Maik Taylor still gets a game so it wasn't all good.

Carson has been awesome for us. I hope we seal his signing very soon. 10m well spent. I'd prefer he didn't get his chance tonight, as it can only complicate our signing of him, but he's a very good goalkeeper indeed. Lampard has always been brilliant for Chelsea, but that midfield has got DOES NOT WORK stamped all over it. Tried and tested. I think £10m is a crazy price tbh. He's good but nothing special. I think Gordon will go on to be better but the £8/9m he cost was a bit over the top too.

Just watched the first half of Birmingham/Villa. Pretty good game. Birmingham have been unlucky. After dominating the first ten minutes Villa then had two frankly rubbish attacks, their first of the game, and somehow that donkey Ridgewell scores yet another own goal from the second one. Why would anyone pay actual money for this guy? Could have had two pens as well. I prefer Villa but hope Birmingham get a result today as it's better for us
