  1. I want revenge on Port Vale for those games in the mid 90's. Damn you Ian Bogie
  2. We walked away from the Senderos deal weeks ago, Wenger wanted a daft fee.
  3. Chopra would play games though I know he is fairly young and fighting for a place but he has still only played 38 games since breaking through in 2004! He's spent literally about 2 solid years out of the game with various injuries though. The fitness problems coupled with having established players in front of him has made it impossible to give him a run of games. He looked a very exciting prospect when he first came through but his more recent appearences have been less impressive tbh. I still think he'd do well in the Championship at least though and if he gets regular games under his belt he might improve again. Couldn't ask for a more tenacious player either. Moyes supposedly rejected a few million from Stoke for Vaughan the other week so a loan could be plausible.
  4. I'd be extremely jealous if he went there but can't see it. Surely most of the top clubs will want him even if Madrid don't, he's fantastic.
  5. Friedel didn't seem as good for you as I was expecting based on his Blackburn days. Is that fair? btw, I was told a rumour (outside of the interwebs) that Gary Cahill will sign for us when we sell Lescott I thought Friedel was decent, but then again, I watched Carson the season before. If you took a random sample of 100 Villa fans, I reckon 95 - at least - would tell you that MON dropped a major, major bollock selling Cahill. He's brilliant. Yeah, I really like Cahill. All the papers this morning are saying we're buying Senderos though which is fucking terrifying.

  7. Beattie isn't all that bad, just didn't suit our team at all. He's a good finisher when he's confident. He relies on service and needs to play with wingers who will whip crosses in for him all day though (or big fellas that can throw the ball dead, dead far). Since Moyes doesn't play genuine wingers it was a bit of a mis-match. In the end both parties needed him to move on.
  8. Leeds have many fans there? I imagine it would have been a decent atmosphere as far as pre-season goes
  9. Big blow for Villa. He was quite a lot better than Barry for them last season whenever I watched their games.
  10. £9m is decent business. You bought him for £10m right? Since then he's flattered to deceive imo.
  11. How are they taking the p*ss? Different though when Everton went spouting to the press about rejecting bids from us for Rooney though just to start a bidding war with Man Utd. It's commonplace for the club that receives a bid to announce it's been rejected. Regardless of the fact I think the Newcastle/Rooney/ProActiv thing was the most obvious stitch up of all time. It's virtually unheard of for clubs to announce they've put bids in before the other team has even responded to said bid. Johnson has just had his first good season in the Prem. Lescott has been one of the best defenders in the league for 3 years on the bounce. How the hell can Johnson be worth the same? That's before you even add on the Man City tax.
  12. You should be pleased to get that much for him. He's worth more. That's not what I'm pissed off about anyway, it's the underhand way of doing business from City.
  13. City have now announced a £19m bid for Lescott to the press. Fucking piss taking twats.
  14. In the 'next 24hrs' according to SSN. Why wait what is it, over a week, to make a second bid? And leak it to Sky before you put the bid in. Classy way of doing things. Cunts.
  15. LB tbh Didn't he play RB for Everton though with Naysmith LB? Also played a fair bit at RB in his time here, including the '98 FA Cup Final where Dalglish put him there so his pace would combat Overmars...only for Overmars to rape him for his goal. Pistone played the vast majority of his football at left back for us. Well, I say football....

    Man City

Why? I was thinking the same... less controversial him revealing that happened than it is to come out and call City a small club etc
  17. I don't like the pink badge on our away kit. I mean, wtf. A lot better than the home top though.
  18. Crying like a baby? wtf
  19. Wtf either you or Niel said earlier in this thread that you've had a second bid accepted so what's changed?. Also i don't wanna hear anything about money being the reason as it's common knowledge about our strict wage cap. Looks like Naughton straight rejected you lot . Probably me who said that, I don't have the best of sources obviously. Poor WUM attempt. Wum attempt? no it's a fact. You were doing your talking beforehand, talking about how they don't wanna join us, they want to come to Everton ect ect ect. You then say a fee has been agreed and now you bactrack and say you don't have the best of sources . When a player rejects us, i don't try and hide it and i don't get super bitter like you seem to be getting. You also decide to bring up money as a key factor in Naughton's decision but you conveniantly forget our wage cap. Tbh i think he made the wrong decision joining us but i like to rub it in when two Everton fans are talking and talking about things they have no clue about, only to get egg on their faces when the 2 players proceed to reject them and join the club "they didn't want to join". I gloat only after a deal is done, not before . Nobody ever said Walker didn't want to join you. It was Naughton I said that about and I still think that he wanted to come here instead but didn't get the opportunity to choose. You're missing the point by going on about a wage cap. The point is that you offered a higher fee and Sheff Utd revoked their acceptance of our offer, stopped contact with the player etc. We didn't have another offer accepted so the player was then going to Spurs unless he was willing to go on strike. We never had an offer accepted for Walker at any stage as far as I know so he's a bit irrelevant.
  20. That's where we've been going wrong then
  21. The Foster one is a much better design and also has the small bonus of having some actual infrastructure & amenities around it.
  22. Wonder if they bought the wrong Magpies? Coming to something when League 2 Notts County get taken over by Middle East money before us!!! Bill Kenwright is still "searching for investors 24/7". Honest.
  23. We didn't have a second bid accepted so.. yeah. Naughton was always going to Spurs from that point on unless he kicked up a fuss and went against his club & agent who stood to make more out of a transfer there. I'm glad we didn't cave in and offer daft money just because saggyface acts like transfers are done with Monopoly money. See Portsmouth & West Ham for details. Not convinced we ever wanted Walker. I would have really liked Naughton here but I'm sure we'll manage.
  24. Southport is a terrible night out. Fuck knows what he was doing there. What I don't get about this case is why it's only an affray charge and how he can possibly plead self defence when the other fella does nothing to him? If Joe Public was caught on CCTV punching someone like that and admitted it then they'd be up for an ABH charge or something. The guy went to hospital I'm pretty sure.
  25. Ouch. I would hope not for brummies sake.
