  1. Sarcasm does not work for your online best pal. No one has said that goals scored is the only yardstick for the merit of a striker. Just for the sake of arguement. BBC I would have Drogba, Ronaldo, McCarthy, Rooney, Yakubu, Johnson, Lampard, Van Persie, Doyle, Henry, Kanu, Martins, Anelka, Bent and Kuyt ahead of Bellamy. Do you disagree? PS I might have Bellamy ahead of Kanu.
  2. Shevchenko has a history of excellence, whereas Nugent does not. Also, would you have the low key Shevchenko during the initial season (not the current on form Shevchenko) ahead of on form Doyle, McCarthy and Martins?
  3. So you are saying that Nugent should get picked ahead of Chopra not because that he is better than Chopra, but because he is potentially better than Chopra?
  4. Yes. Why? I am not talking about potentially.
  5. So the current verdict is that Nugent is currently better than Chopra? I am not talking about potentially.
  6. No it is not daft comparison. Many who derides Chopra like to point out that Chopra is playing in the Championship, as if Chopra doesn't deserve any praise because of the level he is playing. Nugent, if he is trully better than Chopra currently by having more attributes etc, should have scored more than Chopra. But he doesn't. It is not that Chopra's stats is misleading ala Ameobi who apart from scoring and limited holding up play contributes little to general game play. Chopra has plenty of assists, a very good indication of whether one is a luxury player. Lastly, no one here is saying that Chopra is international class, not even Chopra himself. We are just puzzled why Nugent is selected ahead of Chopra.
  7. How about Nugent? Well if he can't outscore Chopra in the Championship, hasn't had any premiership experience, do you think he is international class?
  8. And yet Nugent couldn't even outscore these inferior players despite being an international class playing in Championship? Who's crazier? Chopra also missed quite a few games due to injury and suspension.
  9. 21 goals and 12 assists, and the season is not finished yet. This is a trully impressive figure. I know, and this is repeated many times already, that he is only playing at championship level. But if Nugent, Doyle, Lita et al are deemed better than Chopra why did they not score more goals than Chopra? Paper Stats don't tell the whole story but Chopra is not someone who just sit and wait for goal scoring opportunity. I don't think Chopra should play for England yet as they are more qualified players about. But is Nugent trully a better player than Chopra? Time will tell but at this moment I still regard Chopra a better forward/striker than Nugent.
  10. I don't have any stats on his assists count but I reckon he has supplied quite a few assists for Cardiff. Also the number of times he hits the woodwork. The sooner Chopra plays regularly for a Premiership side (not necessarily Newcastle united) the better.

  13. How true. A friend of mine once had the chance to speak to Viduka in Boro training ground face to face (2004 fall) . That time McLaren was still the manager and the likes of Hasslebaink, Job still play for Middlesbrough. My friend, being from Lyon and hence an avid Lyon fan and all, asked Viduka if the rumours linking him with Lyon in the summer (2004) were true. Viduka nodded and my friend followed up by asking why he didn't move to Lyon, with Lyon being the top club in France and playing in Europe? Viduka gave a wry smile and made a money gesture. Is Luque any different to Viduka? No. Is Luque any different to any of us who would jump ship at first chance if more money is on offer? No. Are footballers from different planet? No. At least Luque does not tell us how much he loves the Toon. You wonder why Shepherd is still leeching our club while telling us he is doing his best for the club?
  14. So you are admitting that all your comments are facile?
  15. Well if this explanation justifies your Hahaha comment then it does say a lot about you
  16. Care to enlighten me why Foster is not the best premiership keeper at the moment?
  17. Delima is seething. Foster is still the best keeper in the premiership! Before the freak goal: hahahahahahahahahahahahaha After the freak goal: hahahahahahahahahaahahahaha with a bit of sympathy/humour. Glad that you are nicely entertained.
  18. Yeah ... upsetting ...
  19. Delima is seething. Foster is still the best keeper in the premiership!
  20. The Journal If Michael Owen is not injured, would you have bought Obafemi Martins? Could Michael Owen score more goals than Martins who has had a very good scoring record so far? Shola Ameobi, is he any better than Martins or Sibierski? You talk a lot about Martins and Sibierski doing very well, do you really think that Owen + Ameobi would have done any better under similar circumstances? What happen to your no injury excuse thingy? You have the whole summer and winter to deal with the loss of Michael Owen, yet you are still using him as an excuse, even though the team has played without him for nearly a whole full season? You can't even be coherent. Senior players not performing. You are the manager, you have to manage the players. You just can't buy without managing and coaching them. We are all disappointed, but there is no need for stupid excuses especially when you pride yourself talking sense in normally.
  21. While personally I detest his comments on female officer (thought he was being sexist, perhaps out of sheer frustration), he has done pretty well football speaking. Revive Luton in impressive style, and he has to sell 5 of his best players - Curtis Davies - Championship best defender Rowan Vine - One of Championship top scorers. King of assist. Carlos Edwards - January championship player of the month. Best Championship right winger. Steve Howard - One of Championship top scorers. Currently top scorer for Derby. Kevin Nicholls - Team captain. I don't think Newell will be out of job for long, and I think he can definitely a good Championship manager at least.
