  1. But when I asked if Sunday Sun's rumours would be counted, you say Well only if .com do list them
  2. What do you mean? If a player is mentioned in icnewcastle but not .com points won't be given?
  3. Ok I see. Cheers. That means Sunday Sun's rumours are also included. You are going to give out a lot of points
  4. Huth point added? That's unfair. The Journal isn't in the list of media you mentioned in the first post.
  5. Strikers: 1. Ruud Van Nistelrooy 2. Dirt Kuyt 3. Jermaine Defoe 4. Andy Johnson Midfielders: 1. Thomas Gravasen 2. Shaun Wright Phillip 3. Jiri Jarosik 4. A La Liga Midfielder 5. A Serie A Midfielder 6. A Ligue 1 Midfielder Defenders: 1. Sol Campbells 2. Lucas Neil 3. Phil Bardsley 4. Jonathan Spector 5. Curtis Davis 6. A Ligue1 Defender
  6. Sorry I have lost interest discussing with you.
  7. I think you are "bitter" with the transfer fee we pay him. Supposed if we pay 3 Millions for Luque, would you be happy to get player of his class (that he has shown)? Overally, Luque definitely offers no less than Faye, Ameobi and Clark in the past few games, in my opinion. Unless we have gotten rid of other worse players, I wouldn't place my critisms on Luque who has scored goals in situations when no other seem capable to. Now, taking his price and reputation into consideration, I think that Roeder is being silly/stubborn for not offering him more chances when he seems interested. Maybe Roeder has other plans for him. But so far I don't know, and no one else knows.
  8. However lazy, laid back, inactive, passive Luque is, he always looks a (or more than 1) class above Ameobi and Chorpra. Now he has upgraded his workrate, I am optimistic that Roeder will keep him for a while at least.
  9. I suppose Alex Ferguson has lived in England looooooooooong enough to be considered as an English. It has nothing about race. Don't forget we had the lengthy European ban due to the Heysel tradegy.
  10. How about Curbishley? Middlesbrough have more financial power than Charlton to back him. But he seems certain to take a year sabbatical. How about ... Tony Mowbray as what the rumours suggested when McLaren was on the edge of sacking in the beginning of this year? Too much a risk I think. Interesting to see what strategies are really in their minds ...
  11. Why Zaccheroni? I don't see he has any convincing CV that would please Gibson. He is also passionless, someone suggested. Maybe after McLaren Gibson would prefer someone more dynamic.
  12. Well there are still hopes You know top class managers don't always perform like their reputations suggest. And a second class manager might turn out excellent for us like what Roeder does recently. Well there are hopes that Shepherd will hit the jackpot right. Hopes .... I am actually very interested to see who Gibson would go for. As far as I know he is a top bloke. Definitely not a xenophobic racist, however he has a preference for English/locals. His past recruitment of managers and his emphasis of academy prove this. Who will he be going this time? If he goes for a bright young English prospect as usual, then maybe his club would not progress as fast as people would suggest.
  13. Simple question. If you were a manager with reasonable CV who is currently jobless .... and who has little or no past connections with these 2 clubs Would you come to Newcastle United to work for Freddie Shepherd or Middlesbrough FC to work for Steve Gibson? If you are a manager who is currently managing a club, but thinking of leaving the job due to whatever reasons, will you be more attracted to the prospect of working with Shepherd or working with United?

    Alan Pardew

Why? His City ALWAYS play good football. I always enjoy watching City rather than Charlton, Bolton, and even Newastle. Careless defense sometimes, inconsistencies sometimes, but overall an entertaining side which can overcome stubborn defense. The person himself is also a man, responsible and sporting. A bit emotional, that's all.

    Alan Pardew

McLaren, Pardew, Allardyce, Curbishley, Coleman, O'Leary, Bruce, Moyes. They are playing music chair you know. 1 year you take the focus the other year I enjoy the limelight. But possible they will never excel in the top echelon. So far defensive football ahve serve McLaren, Allardyce, Moyes and Curbishley right. Pardew has been praised this year for playing offensive football. Perhaps next year if Fulham have the lucks, their attacking football would be praised. If O'Leary sorts his team out he would be congratulated for sticking to his young guns attacking instinct even though when Villa are not doing well. Manager Merry-go-around I say. And Newcastle would always be linked to the manager in limelight. How about Roeder? Does he belong to this group of medicore decent football manager? Maybe I am biased, I think Roeder is a cut above them. A small cut maybe, still a cut.
  16. Well Barcelona also appointed Rikjaard who had little managerial track record. Rafa Benitez was not well known before he went to Valencia. Kevin Keegan had an 8 years sabbatical before he managed Newcastle. Howard Wilkinson was the last English manager to win the Division 1 title yet look at the wonders he did in Sunderland. I don't really think that fame and name are the only criterias. Roeder would be a safe gamble for Newcastle United.
  17. Real Madrid appointed Carlos Queroz after seeing his successful time as Fergie's 2nd man. I do think that Roeder has proven himself to be able to do a decent job in both Newcastle United and West Ham (as explained by Martin Jol). If Newcastle appoint Roeder as manager, I would not see it as a massive gamble. With a broken squad Roeder is pushing us towards the edge of Europe. How about ... a complete squad? Sacking Robson was a big gamble, so as recruiting Souness.
  18. Scolari is proven (too well proven in fact) club wise (Brazillian League). However one might not regard Brazillian League and European League on the same par.
  19. I will, assuming the other choices are among Martin O'Neill, Allardyce and the like. Newcastle under him play good football. He is a sensible person. He is from within Newcastle United (a bonus, not a must). He was/is a academy coach, so he knows the importance of young players. Just that we don't know how skillful he is in player transfers. I know little of him when he was in charge of West Ham.
