  1. 15 replies and no one has suggested Roy Keane might know where the dog is?
  2. Imagine the shock on Roeder's face if he saw that!
  3. Okay, I'll take you seriously... Perhaps an alternative perspective might be that: a) Big Sam's hands are tied somewhat by a clause in his contract that pre-dated his employment. Any club that wants to offer 9m has the opportunity to sign him whether Sam approves or not b) Big Sam is entirely correct not to beg Owen to stay. How can he flex his muscles and sort out dressing-room dissent (one of the reasons we appointed him!) if he's grovelling to one player? c) Perhaps Big Sam doesn't have the same feelings as yourself that a team should be built around a single player, especially a player with such an atrocious injury record d) Perhaps he's confident that he can sign a suitable replacement So on the whole I couldn't disagree more...

Sums it right up 8m for Parker is ridiculous - I'd love to know what the Hammers fans think of that! How reliable is this Daily Star? (And I ask that knowing it's a relative question - silly season + paper talk...) If it's in the Star that he's leaving then he'll probably sign a new 5 year contract tomorrow, put it that way. So on a par with tribal football then?

  6. via New Zealand? Judging by your username I would guess you're one of the millions of Kiwis living in Queensland? More Kiwis than Aussies at my work...
  7. Erm, but we all know whats going on anyway. We don't need the guy to be criticised like that by the chairman. I'm sure Zogs in the wrong here very much, and I'm happy for the club to discipline him internally but how on earth is talking about Charles like that going to help anything? I take it you forget 05-06. Our best player, there or thereabouts. Had an abysmal one last season, no doubt about it, but a year ago he was pretty much our best prospect and I'm sure he can't have gotten worse/much worse in just 12 months. Just a theory, but there have been rumblings about N'Zogbia's attitude for quite some time now, so it stands to reason that Sunday was the straw that broke the camel's back and the point of no return has been passed - and therefore "helping" N'Zogbia is no longer on the agenda. Well may we say that he was a shining light in 05-06, and well may we curse Roeder for dropping him in favour of Duff - but this is where we're at now, with a new man in charge. If Big Sam is going to be the broom to clean the club up, then sweeping away a talented but troubled player might just be the price we have to pay for progress. And while it could be said that this could have been said behind closed doors, let's assume that Freddy chose to make this public, to tell the squad, the fans and even prospective new players that a new regime has arrived, that the time for being taken for a ride is over...
  8. I always thought that was one of those myths that has no basis in reality but gathers strength through repetition? Can anyone confirm or deny? Any excuse to stick the boot in though...
  9. Even "The Gaffer" seems a bit informal - can see plenty of references to "Mr. Allardyce"
  10. Is this the bloke you have called a 'fat pig' on countless occasions? People do have short memories indeed they do, in fact weren't you calling him 'fat pig' yesterday nufc06? I seem to remember NUFC06 saying repeatedly that Eriksson was the only man for us - and that he had doubts about Allardyce's ability. Fickle isn't the word
  11. Please God no. Fuck Harry Kewell
  12. It all comes under simulation. And I disagree about your opinion
  13. What is that, a mens netball team or something? England Rugby Team! So England's plan to win the World Cup is to have the other teams laughing so hard they can't focus? Thank Christ the Wallabies would never wear such shite. They might be a poor football team these days but at least they don't wear lycra!
  14. Owen. Not a chance. You have got to be joking! Owen is a shocker - not that he's had much chance to dive in black and white...
  15. What is that, a mens netball team or something?
  16. You're just checking to see if anyone is bothering to read other people's posts, aren't you?!?
  17. .com seem pretty confident - from their "On This Day In History" column: I wish I wasn't superstitious and believed in jinxes
  18. Top post tmonkey - I thought I'd quote it so it can live again
  19. Probably texting his agent "The prick has put me on the bench - get me the hell out of here"
  20. It was in the Oba goes AWOL story ... apparently Craig Moore was always swanning off to Scotland too, but nothing appears to have been done about it. http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/chroniclesport/tm_headline=awol-%2D-martins-goes-missing%26method=full%26objectid=19101221%26siteid=50081-name_page.html Cheers Still think we're only getting part of the story though - and of as much interest is that it's Oliver reporting it...
  21. KaKa - if this was in the Chron, does that mean it's also on icNewcastle? And if so, can you please provide a link? I feel like I'm not getting the whole story here...
  22. It's a yes or no question - with three yes options
  23. If we're knocking Ikon's post, I'll just add that Gartside has (allegedly) said Anelka would cost 20m, while Arteta for 9m is pure fantasy - ask 1878!!!
  24. Thank God for small mercies
