  1. Absolutely share your concerns and worries about what the fat cockney knacker will do, and have about as much faith as you do that he'll get it right come the opening of the transfer window. We clearly could do with, as you said, at least a couple of Premiership quality additions to the squad - and for my money, I'd like to see us getting a couple of midfielders AND a couple of defenders - but he'll most likely seek to cash in on the likes of Stephen Taylor, Coloccini, Enrique, Nolan or Krul.
  2. I've often wondered why you and HTT hardly ever post at the same time in the same threads.
  3. I fear he'd only get us relegated again, though.
  4. Thing that bothers me right now is that even if, as looks quite likely at the moment, we go on to win the Championship and promotion back up to the Premiership under Hughton, he'd need to be replaced for us to stand a fighting chance of STAYING up. So at what point will he be jettisoned? And who would take over? Same worry plagues me about the squad, too.
  5. He'd not last 6 months, fans would get pissed off royally when were losing and he's ambling around like Shola. You know you're 110% right on that one, btw. Not going to be a problem though as it's doubtful we'll ever be wealthy enough to afford players like him again/any time soon.
  6. If that match was a dish it would have to be: http://www.bristollearningdifficulties.nhs.uk/health_resources/healthy_Eating/Food_drink_meal_photos/Puddings/images/Apple_pie_and_custard.jpg
  7. Love the way the commentators are pronouncing McIndoe's name like he's some Brazilian football god.
  8. That's just the commentators. We're actually playing like Brazil.
  9. It is considering the history of Coventry and WW2. Well it wouldnt really be bad taste for any other reason We should sing the theme tune to Dam Busters if/when we score.
  10. "Bit scrappy" Yeah, figures. Fucked off - this is one game I really wish I could be at. My brother's there in corporate hospitality - can't help wondering what that owuld be like at the Ricoh? Howay the lads.
  11. I take it this game's not being shown on TV anywhere?
  12. Has he actually been given the "all clear" for certain, though? Wouldn't want to tempt fate...
  13. Sounds like nothing short of a miracle. Pleased to hear it. Terrific news.

  16. Why? Just so someone different wins? Could say the same about the Premiership tbh. Yes, exactly why. It's long overdue for somebody else to win. Sewelly, If Dundee United finish top or within 5 points of the top side in the SPL I will donate £50 to the charity of your choice, deal? Does this work both ways? I'm not that confident in Dundee United. They probably wont win the league ultimately, but the Old Firm are definitely the worst they've been in a long time. No, not both ways. If they finish top or within 5 points of top I will stand your charity £50. You don't lose owt if they don't. Ok? Why does he have to agree to it then? It doesn't really matter either way. With that result Levein will have made the Scotland job as good as his, and Dundee Utd will appoint some idiot with no clue so any danger of success for them will whither away.
  17. Is this where I'm supposed to throw the toys out of the pram and say I'm not Scottish I wasn't around during the war? Cockend. I'm not Scottish.
  18. Injuries could finish me off in two years, says Craig Bellamy http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/nov/19/craig-bellamy-manchester-city • 'Maybe I've got one or two years at the most,' says Bellamy • Forward says everything at City has gone well Craig Bellamy suspects his career is entering a twilight zone and fears he could be forced to retire within the next two years. Yet until that day dawns the Manchester City and Wales forward intends to rage against the dying of the light and tonight vowed to relish his every remaining minute at Eastlands. The 30-year-old has been in vibrant form this season, scoring five times for City, but is concerned the debilitating legacy of a series of serious, principally knee, injuries will catch up with him sooner rather than later. "I know there are not four or five years ahead of me, not with the injuries I've had," revealed Bellamy. "Maybe I've got one or two years at the most. It will be all over before I know it, so I'm just enjoying it." He is pleased to be concluding his sometimes turbulent playing days under Mark Hughes's management. The Manchester City manager, Bellamy's mentor during his time in charge of Wales and, later, Blackburn, possesses the knack of bringing the best out of one of the league's most versatile, pacy and technically adept strikers. "Everything at Manchester City has gone well for me from start to finish," said Bellamy who relishes Hughes's "no excuses" culture. "It's so professional here. The manager is clever – he doesn't want to give any of the players reason to moan. He makes sure the only thing you have to concentrate on is football." Hughes, meanwhile, expects Gareth Barry to shrug off a groin problem in time to face Liverpool on Saturday. The midfielder suffered some discomfort following England's friendly defeat against Brazil last week but City's manager said: "Gareth came back with a little bit of soreness but it should not be a problem for the weekend." Although he is extremely unlikely to omit Barry at Anfield, Hughes plans to rest the 28-year-old at some stage. "It is a long season and there are going to be times where we'll have to protect Gareth," he said. "We're mindful that Gareth has played so much for us and for England. We want to keep him fresh and well for key games." Similarly Alberto Aquilani may have to be patient for a little longer before making his long-awaited first start for Liverpool following a £20m summer move from Roma. Rafael Benítez has played down suggestions that the Italy international, recently recovered from ankle surgery, will begin against City. "Alberto understands the reasons he cannot start yet," said Liverpool's manager. "We have a responsibility to him and will not take any risks." Benítez expects Steven Gerrard, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger to be involved on Saturday.
