  1. It's a bit like watching a loved one teetering on the brink of a slow and painful death in A&E...
  2. Really? Okay. So what would you do if you was the new manager? Walk out. Nah. You'd want to unfairly raise people's hopes and expectations first, then have a rammy with the owner and his minions, whilst leaking various stories to the press designed to undermine their position and drive a wedge between them and the fanbase...and THEN you'd walk out.

    Kenny Dalglish

Funnily enough, as yet, nobody has mentioned Ossie Ardiles or Jack Charlton. But then again... I suppos Jim Smith would always be a possibility... He's no older now than SBR was when he managed here.
  4. The last decent set of youngsters we had was Gascoigne's FA youth cup winning team, Joe Allon, Paul Stephenson and Ian Bogie I think. There seems to ba a massive gap between the first team and the juniors though. Something wrong when we have Nicky Butt as the only holding midfielder well past his best and we don't even have someone in the reserve team who could deputise, never mind pushing for that spot. We are that short for midfielders at reserve team level that the last couple of reserve games they've played, not including tonight, we have played Ryan Donaldson, England under 18 striker in midfield, to be fair though i've been more impressed with him in midfield than when he's played up front. Pretty sad state of affairs. Even our reserves are having to field players out of position He Big TRon!! #You are my sunshine, my only sunshine...#

    Kenny Dalglish

His last management job was in some TV charity thing a couple of weeks back. Sorry, getting old so I can't remember the outcome, and therefore cannot comment on his existing management prowess or otherwise, but he looked old and haggard and like he probably pisses himself now.

Dalglish? Here? Again? "Mebbes aye, mebbes naw..."
  7. Left Fulham in a petulant manner for the England job...
  8. Quite an interesting little reminder this...just how petulant and stubborn KK can be...and how emotionally febrile he can be. I'd imagine he'd be a nightmare to work with, from any Chairman's perspective - way too volatile.
  9. All posts, Dave??? If so, why not just lock it?
  10. I'm sure you're not meant to drink alcohol when you're on diazepam, you know.
  11. Exactly. This would never have happened under the old board.
  12. If you can answer these questions and back them up with evidence then i'll vote for you on the committee. Who sold Faye? Did Keegan agree to sell Milner? Did he really want to keep Smith and block his move to Everton? Was Xisco a last minute signing? Were the reports from Deportivo that the deal had been in progress for 20 days wrong? Did Keegan resign? Or did he leave under a claim for constructive dismissal? Did Keegan know the budget was 20m? Did he agree to come knowing it would be? Was his rant after Chelsea him 'changing his mind' about the 20m? Did he really try to sign Henry et al? Did Ashley lie to Keegan? When exactly did Keegan first feel he wasn't in complete control of the transfer policy? Why did Cox leave the club on August 8th? Who was responsible for the failed bids for Modric and Woodgate? If you cant answer them can you let me the know how significant you think that might be. Oh it's all gone quiet over there... Oh it's all gone quiet over there... Oh it's all gone quiet... Oh it's all gone quiet... It's all gone quiet over there...
  13. Huh? What the fuck is that supposed to mean?
  14. there's been worse suggested. i'd be comfortable with that as an interim measure. "as an interim measure" - like football managers last long enough here to be considered much else.
  15. GM, he's from Shields. Haddaway & shite, man! Always thought he was from Sri Lanka. Don't ask why.
  16. come on aren't u mods... may and will and can.... to change & filtering the correct vocabulary I can't believe people have the audacity to criticise a foreigner's misuse of English when they can barely master it themselves. Would love to see them trying to communicate using your native language, juniatmoko.
  17. Woah there! That's a bit severe...
  18. Just keep repeating that mantra now, and keep breathing into that paper bag. In. Out. In. Out.... Do you believe he'll be back, do you want him back? I say no to both. I actually think yes to both. Best man for the job, and I can see it happening. http://cr4.globalspec.com/PostImages/200801/blinkered_horse_47254CA1-A4A9-0433-FBB18583B29FA166.jpg
  19. It's my personal view that the best thing for the team and club is to have Keegan back. Yeah. It really is that simple, isn't it. I don't believe I said it was simple, but in my opinion it is now important for us to get the best manager in for the job, and suprise suprise, the best manager from the obviously available bunch is Keegan. I'm not convinced.
  20. If it isn't Wise who is responsible for not improving the squad to any significant degree and leaving the team short in key areas whose is it? Leaving Keegan completely out of the equation the recruitment policy/structure has failed to deliver and I'm sick of people on here trying to make out it has. If Keegan had left in May we'd have exactly the same squad we have now. How do you work that out? Sorry - I don't follow you.

  23. Makes you sound like Elmer Fudd. Which sounds at least about half right (the Fudd bit...of course).
  24. What do you mean? By lethal I meant very very nice. Yes, because that's exactly what the word "lethal" means. You stupid dog turd* of a man. N.B. By "stupid dog turd" I mean complete genius, of course.
