£50m profit? Is that after wages and overheads? 134 mil for the club 110 of debts (if actually paid) 244mil outlay sky, season tickets, merchandising, league position etc it all adds up if he gets 300 Id say he'd make at least that, I dont buy this 400mil price thats being quoted
-
Sorry I dont buy all this Imo hes not selling to keep the fans happy hes selling to make a huge profit and it really wouldnt surprise me if this was the plan from the start, why hire Keegan? when its a fact that if he thinks things are wrong he will walk, its also a fact he wouldnt work in that sort of structure, and thats prob why the 'walkout' clause was in there. its obvious what would happen if Keegan was backed into a corner its also obvious what would happen if the fans thought that Keegan was wronged. not enough players in when its been obvious were were short, no money spent on transfers, 3 years season tickets up front, merchandise, sky money etc, nice profit so far. As a matter of interest is there actually any proof that he actually paid £110 million off of the debt or is it just what hes said? even if he has if he gets 300mil for the club hes made over 50mil profit, not bad for a year. and he even walks away seeming the victim of bad advise and because the fans want him to. Hes not a billionair because hes a nice guy

Can we have a Number 4, 5, 6, 7 and 11 with a side order of 3, only the best though, none of that crap stuff you give the normal punters
-
Expectations of the fans really isnt a problem, anyone spending that kind of money will have huge expectations themselves ala City and Chelsea they will expect to win things not just be a stable midtable team with maybe a good cup run
-
As hes selling he might as well get rid of Wise etc and let Keegan manage untill someone buys at least we'd be playing reasonable football and it would save him the money its gonna cost to pay Keegan off, just a thought
-
last year he led us to believe he'd cleared the debt thats why people didnt get his back about transfers
-
Too little too late imo, as has been said why not say this months ago? dennis wise over Keegan why? if he was prepared to put 20 mil in for transfer why didnt he let Keegan have that 20mil to get who he wants and still get the players who we got as the money for them was from sales. He says hes gonna sell does that mean he just wants to get his money back and move on for the sake of the club or does it mean he wants to make a huge profit? which could mean it could take years.

Hows that? We had 8 first teamers missing (yes we all hate Smith but I'd play him ahead of Ameobi), that's something almost no squad in the league could cope with. Its the same amount of missing players that's fucked up Manures start to the season.. So yeah I agree our squad isn't good enough to cope with losing 8 first team players but that doesn't make it not good enough full stop IMO. I agree about the injuries but we seem to have this all the time, what I meant was that we havent got reasonable cover in all positions, we have to play players out of position, eg LB RB RW
-
this is gonna be an avoid going down season at best mate, "doing something" is on the bus to another city along with his friend "enjoyment" slog time i'm afraid Nonesense, lets not get stupid ok, we had massive injury problems, ones no club could cope with. Yes we still should have beaten Hull, but lets face it our luck was also injured yesterday... Martins, Gutierrez, Beye, Viduka, Enrique, Barton, Duff, Smith Get most of those players back and we've got a good team and a good squad, one that will not be troubled even by the thought of relegation. Not bad first team but going by yesterday we obviously havent got a good enough squad

People have to ask themselves why they support the toon.... most of them its because they are from the Area... Im not from the area and Ive been asking myself that for years

I think the only real way Ashley can save face and carry on is to actually admit to the fans that he got it wrong regarding the structure and that he was ill advised, get rid of Wise (to appease the fans) and get either Keegan back or a recognised quality Manager in, not a 'yes man' Give them a Transfer and wage budget and let them manage. If he still wants a DOF get one to work with the manager not over him
-
a bit like your posts
-
Based on... ? look at who we're linked with as Manager and even they are distancing themselves, virtually every manager worth his salt has said DOF not a bad idea but the manager has to make the final decisions
-
I would think that Ashley now realises that he was ill advised with this system he had put in place
-
without spending big the best we can possibly hope for, for the foreseeable future is fighting it out with Villa, Spurs Everton etc for 6th, and that seems atm to be the sum of Ashleys ambition for the club.

Well said Pages and pages of speculation and arguements summed up in two lines, and its something we'll never know for sure, only what we believe or want to believe.
-
if he was allowed to do the job he was hired to do, there wouldnt have been all this trouble
-
did Avram Grant buy/sell players?
-
if you say I need 3 players you could think 'it could be me' and up your game (if poss) if you say 8 then you could think 'theres a very good chance Im not in his plans, why bother'
