Kev return will be Ell for Bolton Jan 17 2008 by Alan Oliver, Evening Chronicle Former Reebok ace Robbie Elliott saw the return of King Kev swell the gate and inspire his new team to a 4-0 victory over Stoke City in last night’s FA Cup third-round replay.

'The Fratton Park club confirmed that United had made an approach for their 60-year-old manager as a replacement for Sam Allardyce' have they?
-
I cant see it being any of Redknapp Hughes MON Moyes Why pay Sam off for god knows how much and then pay Portsmouth off then all the staff compo etc thats a lot of money to spend on a sideways step that might not work, A lot would be against them to start with so were back to the Sam signing with a lot of supporters not prepared to give them time the only way most would be happy and give time is with a Jose type signing

Like Alan Green is guilty by association with Liverpool and the BBC? No, wrong way round BBC guilty by association with Alan Green
-
Ah I see guilt by association

The trouble is a lot that read that article actually believe its all true (as proven in this thread) when actually if you break it down most of its bullshit put forward by someone who has an agenda. If he'd said that a lot of Allardyce's problems are his team selections, tactics and under performing players........fair enough but when he goes on about Allardyce blaming the fans and Ashley being in the stands etc then Im afraid all credability goes out the window. Allardyce has said him and the players havent performed well enough I dont see how you can be more accountable than that.
-
I was wondering , those that said the article was 'spot on', what bits? Allardyce hasnt moaned about the fans infact has agreed with them hasnt mentioned Ashley being in the stands has said him and the players havent performed well enough Its not 'spot on' at all is it

Good grief
-
'In February 2006, Green was banned from the Reebok Stadium' no agenda here then
-
Not going to get half the reaction in there though is he? Not going to get half the reaction in there though is he? well he got a couple of nibbles but nothings actually bitten, maybe he should try a different bait

Alan Shearer should climb off sofa and show that he wants to manage

Why on earth would Ashley and Mort bring in an unproven manager if theyve got ambitions? -
7th to 10th so went with 8th
-
facts rather than excuses Imo good post
-
Surely that would be ridiculously harsh? How would non-football men like Ashley and Mort judge the performances separate of results? The fans. Its quite easy to listen to how a season is going by the response of the crowd at the end of every match. Who boos or grumbles when we win? Youre an admin on this board and ask that lol

Surely Allardyce cant be included in this yet, he's still moulding his team!
-
Geremi has obvious talents, however, he should not be played with Butt. Geremi and Emre/Barton will look so much better, IMO. Id go with that. Although Smith has been pretty shocking, Butt would be the first person id drop from the 3 as soon as someone attacking can come in. Even N'Zogbia could do a job as the most attacking of the 3. I just dont particularly think Butt offers us anything, his passing is normally dodgy, he has no pace and 90% of the time he's completely immobile. Whenever he does actually run and chase someone down he gives away a free kick because he dives in.
-
If/When we have Duff, Emre and Barton at our disposal and the opportunity to push N'zogbia on (which should be soon ffs) we should be in a better position to judge. We have absolutely 0 creativity in the middle at the moment, I've never been a fan of Butt, Smith has been pretty shocking, and I havent really been impressed by Geremi either this season.
