Positive sign’s defensively in the last 2 games. Thought we were solid second half against Milan and didn’t really give Brentford a sniff after the first 20 minutes last Saturday. Just need to be more creative and clinical now going forward.

Our fitness hasn’t looked great this season imo. Not sure if tactical or not but we have looked below last seasons standards so far.

In fairness to Tonali, he’s probably played more than he would have and more than Howe would have liked at this stage. The injuries to Willock and Longstaff initially, and now Joelinton have meant he has been thrown in quicker and more regularly than he would have been imo.

Another issue with not signing a DM is we have no one to bring in for Bruno, unless they think Miley is ready ? Id be surprised if the team isn’t the same as it was against Brentford except Miggy in for Gordon. We will then see wholesale changes against City in the cup.

No chance Howe makes 2 changes to the back 4 imo.

I know we didn’t pull up any trees in terms of results at the start of last season, but we looked a really good side despite that. Can’t say the same so far this season. Still great point and hopefully it’s the start of a run.

Not sure if it’s tactical or for fitness reasons, but would love to know where our intensity has gone.
