Think there is a balance to be had, defensively we aren’t good enough, that’s probably an understatement. Obviously there are reasons for it, but it’s been that bad consistently now for a couple of months, we pretty much concede the same goals and chances every match and nothing seems to have improved. Hopefully the return of Pope and others (maybe not until next season) will see us back to our best. I always look back to the Arsenal home game earlier in the season, our best defensive performance by a mile this season. Give me hope going into next season.

Agree with this, however the defence/defending is a massive concern for me. Hopefully players returning will help, but maybe that’s to simplistic.

Absolutely, the Lascelles injury didn’t help, we took 15/20 minutes or so to settle after that. Think Howe got it wrong with the sub at the time which he pretty much admitted afterwards.

We weren’t horrendous but we don’t ever seem to have control of a match anymore.

Still think we will struggle for top 7 with the way we defend. It really is a massive concern with the amount of goals we concede, and with how easy we are to score against.

I’d wait for actual concrete news before getting worked up tbh.

On our defensive issues, do people think as soon as Pope and Joelinton are back then our defensive issues will suddenly disappear?
