I’ve not really been keeping up with this because I think it’s dead, however reading through here would suggest it’s possible, but has anything concrete or from official reliable sources come out to suggest this is close to happening or is it the same old rubbish from last time ?

We have supposedly been in the end game to many times now, and nothing really suggests this is anywhere close to happening. As long as Bruce remains manager then I would say the takeover is nowhere near close.

No way Rafa comes anywhere near us with Ashley still here, if anything the future of Bruce over the next few weeks especially with our fixture list will tell us more about where and even if there is a takeover close.

There are only two people that appear to be ITK on here and neither have said it is close. Mimms has said that it may be a few weeks today but before that has always said that it would be months. Mimms did say make sure you have cans or something along those lines but yesterday’s news shows is the takeover isn’t anywhere close to being back on.

Surely the papers served today goes against any ITK on here saying it was close because if it was then this wouldn’t be needed or have received the backing it has

I was going to join if the takeover went through however feel it’s pointless really making an effort in the club without it. Good luck to all those who have or are trying though I hope something comes from it.

The Mauriss deal would get us closer to better owners than keeping Ashley now that the Saudis bid is done. And by that I mean any good owners will find it easier to buy from Mauriss than Ashley. That’s based on absolutely nothing other than surely he can’t be as thick skinned and difficult to deal with as Ashley surely.

It's not really a closed shop at all is it? It's a closed shop to people who pirate PL games from a broadcaster who pays millions to show the games 100% correct. If they didn't pirate the games and hurt the financial bottom line of the PL then of course they'd be allowed in. That being said they have handled this whole process very badly. People on here acting like it's a big conspiracy to hold Newcastle down is a bit embarassing imo. It is embarrassing. We don't even have the full story, just Staveley's version, which is inconsistent at best. "There was no issue with piracy, but we tried to sort it anyway" being one such strange line. They must have known from the outset they wouldn't get PL approval, with them pirating games on an industrial scale and having no will to do anything to help that situation. We need to question everything we are told, as Mark Douglas says: So the premier league should have rejected it then.

As others have probably said, outside of Newcastle no once cares and this will be old news in a weeks time, fans will still turn up regardless (assuming they are allowed), the club will continue to lurch from one pointless season to the next. Fair play for any fan trying to keep pushing for it though.
