he will score the winner to save Steve.
-
Just doubtful, only 3 minutes till we find out though.
-
Btw even if the article were true, now all this has come out there is even less chance of us sacking him, just so they can say the journalist was wrong.
-
If we don't score within the first 20 minutes i think your right.
-
Probably because they know as well as us that he is never going to be sacked.
-
Spurs were poor there like, they never seem to create many clear cut chances.
-
Why? Hope is right no other premier league club would have McClaren peeling oranges. He's slammed us for weeks and it's tedious. Similar to Luke Edwards he blatantly has a gripe with the club and he jumps on anything he can. It's also massively unprofessional ranting like some little mug at a press conference like the idiots they get on Sky Sports News. More importantly we need to win and I really really don't want to go down. If we lose today it's curtains regardless of whether they sack him. The Telegraph seem to have better sources as well and according to them there doesn't seem any desire for Charnley to sack him. Just out of interest, what do you want the press to write about us then? And according to every jouro there yesterday, it was McClaren who started having an unprovoked go at him.
-
Not sure I know he covered us all the time till Ashley banned him.
-
Luke Edwards or is he still banned?

Anyone seen this? http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/steve-mcclaren-involved-furious-row-7496605

McClaren is getting away with murder from the fans as well, the abuse others have suffered and he is doing worse than everyone. No wonder he walks round with a permanent smirk he is untouchable.
-
Article sums up perfectly why we are in the mess we are. No plans in place in case we do sack him, and a crisis meeting if Bournemouth beat us? The crisis has been going on for months.
-
Imagine Benitez wanting to come in, but we beat Bournemouth and say nah we will stick with McClaren.
-
Graeme Bailey says we are interested in Benitez... http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/03/04/gb-newcastle-could-turn-to-rafa-benitez/?utm_medium=share%2Bbutton&utm_campaign=social%2Bmedia&utm_content=/en-gb/2016/03/04/gb-newcastle-could-turn-to-rafa-benitez/&utm_source=Twitter

Who is Wendy Taylor? Head of Media, I think. At least that was her former role. May be a stupid question, but why would he need her advice to change manager?
-
Totally agree but as we've seen it's who they appoint. They've buggered that up time and time again so i have no trust in them doing it right. I'd still roll the dice though, if McClaren stays we're going down. I'd appoint Moyes from what's realistically left. If as i suspect that they wouldn't go for a Eddie Howe type. If there is any truth in the sacking story, then surely we would have had to sound out someone already, and I just can't see the people running the club doing it the right way. If he was to go I am certain we wouldn't have a new man in charge for the Leicester game it will be Cathro or Simpson as caretaker.
-
If the reports about the players turning on him are true, it will be interesting to see their reaction in the field tomorrow.
-
See i don't get that, say we beat Bournemouth and then get murdered by Leicester, what's the difference. We're in a position because he's a poor manager (the players should cop stick as well), beating Bournemouth changes absolutely nothing in regard to McClaren, he'll still be a poor manager. Shame the idiots running us can't swallow their pride and just admit they got it wrong appointing him. Completely agree, it was the same before the WBA game, we won then got smashed of Chelsea and beat of Stoke.
-
Caulkin also saying that McClaren was on the brink before we managed to beat Liverpool and Spurs, and that tomorrow holds the key to his future.
-
We will win tomorrow, I am absolutely convinced, it's the same every time there is any speculation he has always managed to scrape a win. However assuming we were to get beat, does anyone really think we would have a replacement in by the time we play Leicester? That would surely mean we would be talking to someone right now, and we don't do forward planning. If we were to sack him my Hess is they would put Cathro in, and by the time we got round to appointing someone else it will be another 3-4 games down the line.
-
As I said in the WBA match thread, the best thing for us would be to get beat, but we will sneak a close win and McClaren will be saved for another few games. It's been the same cycle all season, where by results mean he is under massive pressure yet one scrappy win convinces the board he should keep his job. 1-0 to us.
-
Our whole club is modelled on selling players, if anything the players already know that they are going to leave if we go down. It makes no difference to them what league we are in, if someone bids enough we will accept.
-
Assuming he was to go after this weekend, which he should regardless of the result, can anyone name a serious and competent replacement that they think would be willing to come in for 11 games and risk a relegation on his CV?
