Perfect time to sack him, gives us 18 days to replace him and some decent games to pick up points. Any normal board/owner would act now. If he stays we are down.
He will get a drab 1-0 win today and the board will think everything is ok again. They never look at the bigger picture which is the run of defeats that will follow on from this.
If we don't sack him after this game we have zero chance of staying up.
So Doumbia not ready to start, typical of us, we are in desperate need of goals and we desperately needed a striker who was ready to come in and start immediately and we get one who isn't fit and probably wont be for a few weeks considering he hasn't played for ages.
Surely Doumbia has to start, otherwise it proves we bought in a striker just to make up the numbers instead of bringing one in who is ready to play and make an impact immediately.
Yeah I'm not comparing in terms of ability, I'm thinking a real step away from the usual Ahley appointments would be a top foreign appointment.
I'm not trying to say Pardew and McClaren are equal to Moyes and Rodgers.
Moyes would be the worst appointment for me. If he kept us up he would have us between 12th and 15th every season, Ashley would love that and the fans would sit and accept it.
I used to rate Rodgers but his signings at Liverpool were pretty w***. His passing philosophy went out the window when he ended up replacing Suarez with Benteke. They spent a shitload at Liverpool to get nowhere during his tenure. Still I suppose we've done the same and are in danger of relegation.
I'm not a big fan either but since he left he has said in several interviews he had nothing to do with the majority of signings.
Redknapp would have a better chance of having a positive impact in the short space of time.
Rodgers would be a more long term appointment albeit a poor one.
We are guaranteed a scrappy win here just to keep this clown in the job just that little bit longer.
If we somehow get beat and Norwich beat Villa, then thats us done.
