So assuming that the Staveley deal is 100% dead, has there been any recent updates via companies house in regards to things like the agreement that was signed with PCP and St James Holdings, or does that take a while to filter through (or am I get my wires all crossed)?

Announced on a Friday at 3pm I expect?

I find it absolutely baffling it’s just been dropped without answers. No journalists has really done a post-mortem on what happened. We’ve basically been told to keep going by Staveley, Rick rolled by her husband and the media and NUST have all apparently let it go since the Premier League meeting and the fan base has been told a grand total of fuck all. We’re now into Bruce down playing our chances this season, absolutely awful transfer targets and all of the media types that looked down on us wanting the Saudi deal now seemingly going missing while Ashley continues to run us as close to the line as he can get away with. I guess a certain amount of takeover fatigue has inevitably set in after such a long period of time, but now feels like a crucial time to keep pushing, even if its to be told with 100% certainty that there are no viable bids on the table at this time (I could then leave this thread alone ) The optimist in me feels like the silence is a bit fishy and that things must be going on, but that's not backed up by any evidence. However, Caulkin was obviously being fed snippets by Staveley first time around, so surely if the same process had been re-activated behind the scenes, he would be receiving similar information now (unless he's decided he doesn't want to get his fingers burnt again and is keeping quiet).

Caulkin isn't perfect, but he really should be near bottom of the list when it comes to directing anger/criticism at the journalists that have covered it.

Looking at the situation with critical eyes Nothing to stop him doing some actual journalism and checking to see if what he's been told is actually based in any kind of factual world. Unless it was just an interview and reported as one, rather than taking a single source as gospel That's fine in most scenarios, but with one source (we are assuming) involved in a highly confidential process, I'm not sure how feasible that is.

Is this serious? He could be writing a book etc. Well of course he could be - point being, he's been quiet on Twitter for a long time. Just re-tweets and replies. Anyone who uses Twitter fancy pinging him a message, he seems fairly responsive in the past.

I've heard they have The Internet in other countries now He's started re-tweeting stuff in the last day or two, which is a couple of weeks since his last tweet, which kind of suggests he may be back from his hols. And yes I need a need a new hobby

Very frustrating that she so publicly asked for our support (which we provided), but then hasn't provided anything in terms of an update. Perhaps Caulkin will provide a hint as he seems to be the closest source we have to her and it looks like he is active again on Twitter after his holiday. Possible scenarios?? - She's back in top secret talks with all the original groups and the takeover is very much still on (and she can't say anything) - She's trying to formulate a new bid (without PIF), and doesn't want to say anything - The takeover is absolutely dead and she just wants to disappear off into the sunset without any final statement I hope its the first one but the others seem more likely
