I can't agree with the bit in bold, surely the time taken points towards them being exactly the opposite of that (i.e. being very meticulous). It's a confidential process, so they are legally bound to only discuss the process with the parties directly involved. That's not to say we won't get some insight after a decision has been made which could indicate why it has taken so long.

Based on absolutely no insider knowledge at all, I think the deal will be approved (no idea when though). I think it will be approved but will be dependent on some other deal/assurance being agreed/provided, which is what is taking the time to put together. I honestly can't see them taking this amount of time and then coming back with a 'no', I'm taking the extra time as a good sign, but you never know!
