I get the feeling that the majority on here would be happy to see him go, me too by the way, I'm sure we can buy a much better prospect with the money we can sell him for. They should have just asked "Would you sell Paul dummett". Hell yeah.

I'm still angry at yesterday, for once we go into a new season with some optimism, some hope that things will only get better for the club, and they put in that performance. We've got to remember that Fulham are not even a very good Championship team, they finished 20th last season and lost their best player a day before the game. The worrying thing for me is that Rafa was the main culprit in our defeat, he picked the wrong team, set them up much too negatively and had them playing in a manner that did not play to our strengths. This "Wake up call" that they are talking about should be extended to the manager not just the players, just hope he recognises the mistakes he made and works out a way to beat inferior teams, as every single one we'll play in the league this yesterday will on paper be just that. Ruin my whole weekend as usual NUFC, kind of miss the Close Season.

Still to be convinced that spending 10 million on this guy made any sense whatsover, early days of course. But even in today's market, that's a lot of money for a player. The giving him the 9 shirt, may just have added further pressure to him. The 9 should really have gone to Mitro, think it would have done more for him that it will do for Gayle.

I'm staying at a 7, think that was a sensible call when I made, think it even more so now, starting to worry that we can't work out a way to beat the crap. Still expect us to go up and anything less than that will be a huge failure, but clear when you get beat off the team that finished 20th in the 2nd tier that it's not going to be as simple as some on here were making out.

I don't think we have to adjust at all to the league, we just have to pick square pegs for square holes and stop being afraid to attack what we are up against.

Clear from that for me that he's not good enough to play the no. 10 even at this level. He's either a support striker to a big man like Mitro or an impact sub, pairing him and Gayle up was a disaster.

Our whole left side is a bit of a concern and needs sorting.

He's an easy target and he wasn't great at all tonight, but replacing just him won't fix everything that was wrong with that performance. Anita, Perez, Dummett, Hanley, Sels and Gayle were of equal levels of hot garbage, let alone the marking job our new captain performed for their goal.

Why didn't he play Gamez there ?

Think he failed tonight, he's got to pick a better line up and has to work out how to beat the crap teams we'll be facing all season. He's good enough to do that, but not beating the crap teams was highlighted as a major weakness when he was at Liverpool.

We shouldn't need to rely on refs doing a competent job tbh, yes he got some big decisions wrong, but that should have meant the difference between winning by 3 goals as opposed to one or two, not losing to a team that finished 17th or something last season and lost their best player the day before kick off.

More upset with the performance than the result really. I could have taken a one-nil loss in the first game and crossed it off as first game of the season, getting to know systems and stuff. But outside the penalty claims we were pretty abject. Rafa got too many selection decisions wrong for me and too many players didn't play up to their so called pedigree in this division. Signs are not good from the first game. Maybe blessing in disguise to insure we do more work in the transfer market.

I was unimpressed with the signing in the first place, thought it was strange giving him the no. 9, and his debut has been downright awful, the only way is up from here I guess. He's not a 10 million player on this evidence

Not impressed at all with the front two, we need to buy and Mitro's suspension is killing us right now, the way we are playing appears to require the big CF we don't have on the pitch. That's crap from Perez again.

Not sure how Hanley is better than Mbemba, this was my concern with making Lascelles captain, we are playing without our best CB.

Ritchie needs Mitro to be effective these two up front are doing nothing with the quality of ball he's putting in.

Rafa got his team selection wrong here, this could be a long and poor season if this is the quality we are going to produce. Can't see us going up at this rate.
