His slowness is what struck me watching, not necessarily his pace but his thought process , things happen a lot faster in our league, can understand why he struggled in Germany too, you just don't get that kind of time in the box in the top leagues.
-
That's the last thing they should be hoping for and the least likely thing that will happen. The fucker doesn't even have to finish top ten now that Ashley has given him a cast iron excuse in selling and not replacing cabs.
-
He didn't look beaten at all. He looked like someone who knew we played bad, but thought it was not his fault and that any flak coming his way would be out of order. The guy looks totally secure in his job, which he shouldn't be of course.

So fucking Jorno needs to ask this arsehole to explain wtf he is doing, he surely has to be held accountable. It's more than just a souless company that he owns, he's responsible for the hopes and dreams of a whole city, yet he gets to sit in his little ivory tower there and pretty much say to everyone fuck off, I own this club and I do what I want with it and I'm not going to explain a thing.

I f***ing love sport me like. It my one real passion (outside of course of my family), I don't have anything else I am passionate about, no collecting stamps here, saving the planet or fishing for that big catch. Sport effects my moods significantly. Today I just feel so drained of life. I have three sports teams that I follow with great passion, my first and biggest love NUFC of course, Miami Dolphins and the Florida Gators. All three are putting me through so much s*** and will continue to and all three have a head coach/manager who is woefully sub par and who I despise. it's uncanny the similarities right now. Only the Gators have given me any reason to cheer in recent years and tbh when they were good I was a little apathetic to College Football at the time, so really didn't get to enjoy that success. Miami and NUFC are much the same, glories in the past, but modern day mediocrity, always lifting there fans up a little with hope and expectation only for the inevitable collapse and missed goals to happen Miami's owner is also a self made billionaire, his heart's a least in the right place and wants to win, he's just stupid (from an American Football point of view). Ashley clearly doesn't care about winning but both are saddled with a team manager who will never make them a winning owner. Difference is Miami's owner won't settle for medocirty again next season, Ashley will probably hand Pardew a extension if he achieves that I'm p*ssed of with sport in general atm, but like the proverbial battered wife, I keep coming back for more and living off those times when the teams I follow make me feel so great. Why couldn't I follow teams like Manure and New England, f*** life it sucks right now.

As much as he was fucked over yesterday, today was as much his fault as the owner, we were never set up right to win this game, never and that's on him. The team looked demoralised from the start.
-
I don't know, for me feels worse right now, maybe I've just forgotten how bad last year was.
-
Didn't do himself any favours today, mind you neither did the 13 others who took part and were a disgrace to the shirt either.
-
They will finish ahead of us, just so much better than us in such a short space of time it's unreal. They've got a real chance winning that league cup, Man Shitty didn't turn up last year in the FA cup final, got a horrible feeling this could be repeated. Why couldn't they just keep faith with Di Canio ffs
-
They are the better team and will dominate this derby for the next few years if the two managers remain the same and our owner continues to own the club. Got to hand it to them they deserved it played way better football and Poyet is a damn good manager, the signing of Bridcutt from them could be cruical.
-
Hmmm, his strike partner had two good chances to score.
-
Better team won. Better team by a long way tbh, we have been an absolute disgrace to the shirt.
-
Don't think we will win another game this season tbh. We look woeful and no goal threat whatsover.
-
He looks shit from the bits I've seen so far, hopefully that's just rustiness and with a few games helping him get that match fitnees. Seems to want way more time than he's going to get, in any league not just the PL.
-
Absolutely disgraceful, Ashley, Kinnear, Pardew and the players all need to hang their heads in shame. Disgusting.
-
Why can't he buy Rangers and just fuck off from us ?
-
Krul is the next most salable asset, he'll be next out of the door and I wouldn't blame him for a second, this club deserves no loyalty right now.
-
Saves on wages, don't forget. Yep would make up for the outlay on De Jong's, we really shouldn't expect that we can add one striker without another having to leave to balance things out.
-
To not even be close to a deal is downright rotten from those running this football club. Sell the club to someone who cares you bastard.

While am I still F5ing ?

This is interesting from the Beeb transfer deadline day page: "Just on Tom Ince, it's incredible. Two clubs were given permission to speak to him about a loan move, which was Swansea and Crystal Palace. Stoke wanted a permanent move, but the player wants a loan move and to keep his options open. "But Blackpool won't be bullied and I believe they're now in favour of a permanent transfer, bearing in mind Ince's contract is up at the end of the season. Half an hour ago, there was no progress whatsoever, It could be Tom Ince ends up back at Bloomfield Road tonight." We should be all over that but we are not http://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/25645614

Not defending us but look at the three clubs above us, the table doesn't tell the full story, a couple of overpriced sales skew it a little. Still an utter disgrace that we have made no attempt to push on, with the money we've generated.

I just don't know what we could realistically do (with Mike Ashley as owner) to break the domination of those clubs ToonPack mentioned. I mean, we are competing with the top 6 now, what I don't know is how it's possible to compete with the top 3 or 4 without spending way beyond our means on a regular basis. Ian, for the last 3 seasons we have been fairly close to CL qualification twice (one very close), with a squad assembled on a shoestring and managed by a dead average manager. Graham Carr is doing a fantastic job of spotting talent early, it's the doing the deals part that's sometimes letting us down (Thauvin, Aubameyang, just to name two examples). Now, if Ashley were to trust Carr's judgement a little bit more and was willing to spend that little bit of extra money it sometimes takes (our money btw, not his), not only could that make the difference between being close and actually challenging up there, but it would also make sense financially for him to do so. The same thing goes for (not) replacing the manager. Again, it comes down to trying to be the best we possibly can vs being happy with mediocrity. Great post
