I don't think it's a case of blaming the fans or city, but a reflection of how much he has bought into the (southern) media stereotype of Geordie fans: easily excitable, over-emotional, high expectations, get on the players'/managers'/club's back easily, etc. It's an easy out for any grumbling from the fans, to dismiss it as an overreaction; "You know how those Geordies are..." I try to avoid reading or hearing anything Pardew has to say but whenever I come across any of his interviews the patronising tone when referring to the fans or city tends to be a constant. It's the mindsent that I think is prevalent within the club in general. I don't see any reason to believe that, seems to me more like an honest reaction to what he's experienced at SJP. OMG

Am I just remembering this incorrectly but did they not insinuate that 10th place was the minimum acceptable position. I wonder if there are any consequences for not attaining that goal (which tbh I see as very likely). The JFK nonsense though has probably bought this charlatan yet another year, just keep us up and he'll be back to weave his magic next season
-
Hmm not sure about that
-
He's looked ok today, doesn't really look like a goalscorer though, maybe similar to Dirk Kuiyt type. This 90 mins will help him, he's obviously short of match fitness and sharpness.

It's lucky we only need 1 win to stay up, i think we are going to lose ten or so of our last games. I wouldn't be surprised if we didn't win another game all season, may need to find those 3 points with 3 home 0-0's tbh, there are no goals in this team.

He didn't need to say the "he's done a lot of good work bit" really stupid, open himself up to further questions. He could of easily said, "I don't like to see anyone lose their job, I wish Joe all the best for the future" simple non contentious and non ambiguous. Unless of course his intention was for questions to be asked about this so called "good work". These managers are supposed to be schooled in these press conferences, he should know better.

I suspect the NFL (and all American sports leagues) would have strict rules concerning accommodating the press for all of their clubs. If the Dolphins tried to ban hostile local press the commissioner would come down on them hard. Probably very true. Why don't the PL do the same, it's in their best interests really.
-
Yep we absolutely do. They should be milking this for all it's worth, just like we did after the 5-1.
-
It's funny, as I've mentioned before I follow the Dolphins too, and read the local press down there in Miami all the time. They are openly critical all the time, they've questioned the ability of the owner, the head coach and other coaches, yet they've not be banned, still have their access and still get interviews with players. Like with NUFC and it's local press, there is little respect from the fans, but that's more for there opinions not being universally popular rather than them not expressing an opinion like our local press has for the longest time. These two pieces are awful really but at least a step in the right direction.

We don't even have a board, so that board decision statement makes no sense, lol. If I were one of the jornos I would have asked him for examples of this "good work", he probably wouldn't have answered or spouted some shit about De Jong and Remy and the program notes (which were ghost wriitten of course).

What a name They're real. And also Canadian. Sounds like a logical progression: 1) Own 27 hotels in British Columbia. 2) Buy a British football club. 3) Profit. Let me just fly to Dubai to confirm. They are here in Alberta too, there is one of those sandman hotels in the shopping complex close to my house. Not sure why they would be interested in us or if they would have the financial clout to make us relevant again.

Outside the Kinnear stuff, that piece is so pro Pardew, making him sound like quite the hero !!

How do we know if Carr wasn't part of the problem here ? One thing that has me very concerned is how come we had seemingly only one option once Cabaye was sold, it was Grenier or nowt, surely as the chief scout he should have had a list of targets not just one. Now we have no way of knowing if he did but JFK and MA just refused to move down to the next man on the list. But at the same time we don't have anything to suggest he did. Carr may not be blameless in this whole scenario, so I wouldn't be too fast to make him King just yet.

think Wonga business practices are illegal in Canada. Actually they are here, they've got a big advertisement campaign going on at the moment. odd considering http://videos.icnetwork.co.uk/m4/loanmap1.jpg as manipulative as the fat t*** I suppose, apr 4000% unless considered on the short term basis (dpr?) . s**** adds too According to their website www.wonga.ca they are in BC, Alberta and Ontario, looks like from that link only Ontario has a cap. I'm in Alberta, we are a very rich Provence tons of oil here, so not sure if there is a big market for them here.

He's got a girl's name though !

Just listened to his interview on talksport when he got the job. That's the first time I've heard it lol. http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/26027652

Perhaps it's because I live in Canada but I don't have this hatred you lot seem to have for Wonga, couldn't really give two shits who sponsors us tbh.
-
Thank fuck. Will he be replaced or will Pardew get his wish and get full control on transfers ? Could be out of the frying pan into the fire.
-
So I guess this bid didn't come off, if indeed it was ever made.
-
If I had any inclination that this money would be reinvested in the team, I would snap their bloody hands off for any bid plus 5 million tbh
-
Doesn't for me. Not one mention of Pardews inept tactics Pretty poorly written piece with zero substance tbh.

Oh ffs, this forum sometimes.
