I think it is a bit silly, that more preparation work doesn't appear to have been conducted prior to the opening of the window. We've known, and the club even acknowledge that the squad is too thin, then we lose one player in a key role. Getting Debuchy sorted early was good work but we need more than just a RB. As people have pointed out the next three games are crucial to our season, we simply must get a positive return, 7 points at least. Getting the replacement for Ba and a need CB after those 3 games are over may be closing the stable door after the horse is bolted.

Well, all of that might be happening. It never is with Newcastle though

Why do I have the feeling that this one will run to the last minute and then end in disappointment, with no time left to find an alternative, because we've put all our eggs in one basket. We shouldn't just be looking at this other guy (whom I've never heard of before this window and can't pronounce his name but I'm sure Carr's done his homework) with a view to making a bid if we can't get Remy, we should be actually talking to the club agreeing a fee and then talking to the player. We are not in a position to take any chances right now, also being in an advanced stage with another players, gives you a bit more power with your first choice to speed things up. I would rather end up with my 2nd choice, than wait till the final day of the window for my first choice to potentially turn us down.

I firmly believe par dew has put himself in a position of trust with his employers that only certain relegation would tempt them to make a change, even then I'm not convinced they woukd definitely pull the trigger.

Should be sacked after the run we've has but clearly won't be.

wow how fucking awful Guess its for the best but still embarrassing as fuck

Me neither. My Stoke supporting boss says he pulled out of a deal at the last minute to sign for them a couple of years ago because Stoke was too far from London !! Thank god we are on the same side of the country, lol

This. His injuries f***ing worry me though, despite all the talk about Ba's knee he was available for virtually every game since he came. This guy's been likened to an F1 car in terms of being high maintenance. Can we cope with that? I think with our medical team and history of dealing with injury prevention that won't be a problem....oh wait

What did I tell you waiting to the last minute and nothing will happen
-
Our striker search will go down to the last day I think, that and the CB too, in fact once debuchy is confirm I expect to hear nothing from them until the last day of the window to tells us they are unlikely to do any more business

What Injured player do you miss most ? ( Poll Added )

It's a good question and a difficult one to answer. HBA is a huge loss for us because he's our player that can do something sublime to change a match. In Saylor's absence we had to rely on Williamson, and we've seen how that's gone But Cabaye though is our creative spark and offers alongside tiote that protection to the back four, we just seem so much better with him in there, so my vote goes to him. -
Krul Debuchy New CB Colo Santon Tiote Anita Cabaye HBA Marveaux (Remy?) Cisse If we ever manage to get that team on the field surely we will pull away from the bottom despite Parduh. That's the thing, if we analyses the relegation fight player for player, we shouldn't be anywhere bloody near it. But with so many players either injured, hopelessly out of form and just not willing to play for the manager we are firmly in it. A change in management (with a sensible appointment, not a JFK type) would instantly see an improvement in fortunes I think, if not we have bigger problems in terms of the players we have not being as good as we think they are.

Yep although we made a decent start to the window, I'm not convinced we'll end up doing enough. TBH assuming no more out goings then if we don't bring in at the very least a CB and a Ba replacement then we will be screwed, that's the bare minimum we should expect and if the board can't make that happen due to the model then the model is fucked because you can throw it out of the window when you are playing championship football next year.

It's going to be a huge fight now and very uncomfortable 5 months. Forget any hopes for the FA cup or Europa league, it's all about survival now, a bleak and depressing thought.

He lost my faith in him after today's game. Set himself up for failure with his team selection and compounded it with his subs, he just seems clueless right now.

From the Beeb, who on here is Mitch ?? Mitch, Newcastle on text: "We are really starting to see the effects of not investing in the summer. I feel sorry for our fans and Pardew, just hope our owner shows faith in Pardew to back up the faith shown in his contract."

Don't you wish sometimes that you could just change your allegiance, I really just feel now like giving up on this fucking club. It's the same shit they put us through rotating through crap years interspersed with the odd good year where they come close to challenging for stuff to keep us interested. I'm fed up with it, it ruins my mood and my day, I wish it didn't bother me so much but it does and I'm stuck with them no matter what they do. It's like crack it really, it's terribly bad for you but you have to keep coming back for more.

Damn I can't cancel my PVR recording of the game from work
-
It's never our night though !
-
That could be a turning point for QPR does not bode well for us
-
I'm convinced about this now, unless we pull a rabbit out of the hat in the transfer window, and Pardew wakes up to himself and starts making decisions that don't hurt us further.
-
That could be the only course of action that can save us, but Ashley will not take it no matter what.
-
This season is just ridiculous. The football gods have been angered by us for sure. This slide could be irreversible at this point.

Wonder how much Suarez would cost Man Shitty or someone like that with tons of money ?? He's a complete twat but a hell of a footballer.
