But it's the mighty Aston Villa, they won the European Cup once you know.
-
Allrighty then....... are you like 5 years old or something.
-
Now that's a way better post. As I mentioned above, I understand why the Villa fans feel the way they do. He's gone about it all wrong. But I do understand why he would want to move and although it pains me to say, I would probably understand it if he was a newcastle player too.

You're a very, very silly man indeed, mate. I'm in my late 30s and have been supporting us since I was 5. In that time I've seen us win one European Cup, one league title, one European Super Cup, and four league cups. Your turn. How many trophies have Liverpool won in the same time? As much as I hate Liverpool, if it was a choice of Villa or them, I'd join them every time. Guaranteed top 4 finish every year, and a real push at trying to win the league. Villa have no chance of that I'm afraid. I'm not passing comment on his desire to go to Liverpool, or on Liverpool's history in the same time. I'm passing comment on that tit afar's description of Villa as a "nothing club". He's said a few times he has a problem with me being here, and he's doing it specifically to wind me up, get me to react and get me banned. I've pointed out the irony of him describing Villa as a "nothing club". If calling him a tit gets me banned, then fair enough, he's won. And here we go once again - Afar, you're a tit. A brainless, witless tit, in fact. OMG paranoid or what. Yeah I have admitted in the past that I don't think your contributions as an outsider here are as great as others seem to think and I really have no love of the club you support. But I have nothing against you personally, so for goodness sake, get a grip man. If you read the whole body of the my post you will find me defending Villa fans for giving Barry abuse. One of the other posters used the term "Average club" to describe Villa, well "Nothing club" and "Average Club" are pretty much the same thing in my book. And I'll repeat for the record, NUFC are pretty much in that "nothingness" right now and we most certainly were when you guys had your hayday back in the early 80's. If Barry was our player right now, I would still begrudgingly admit that Liverpool was a huge step up for him. Don't get so bloody sensitive man, you can't come on to other teams forums and expect your club to be held in some untouchable paltform, Spurs, Liverpool, Manure and of course the mackems get their fair share of stick on here, as do NUFC actually from one poster anyway. Yet I don't see many of their fans poping on here whining. For the record I have no desire to see you banned, far from it but I don't take too kindly to personal abuse, so please cut that out cos there's no need for it really.

You need all three to make it in the PL, for Emre the one he did have, he didn't show often enough. On a side note he doesn't look exactly thrilled in those photos and he still looks fat, I don't know what you guys are talking about.

But you're completely ignoring the player's wishes here. It certainly not a given (pardon the pun) that he'll agree to this move.

In that time I've seen us win one European Cup, one league title, one European Super Cup, and four league cups. Your turn. What a tit. Absolutely. So when exactly did Villa win those things, was Barry still playing at left back then ? I don't know how he can deny that Villa have not been a nothing club during Barry's time. And for the record we are well on the way to nothingness ourselves over the last few seasons. Brummie just let his halo slip a little there methinks. He should be thankful he's not posting some other club's boards, we are very tolerant of other clubs fans here.
-
Completely plausable tbh. Whether they are able to bid enough to tempt us is debateable and even more so is whether Given would go back to that back water, I don't think his stock has dropped that much.
-
I take it, it's confirmed then. Great news even though it does further weaken the squad numbers. His moments of brilliance (such as his cameo versus Everton and the free kick against the Mackems) have been few and far between, mixed in to distinctly average performances and lengthly visits to the treatment table.
-
Totally agree with this to be honest. Great servant for the club, said he'd give it a couple of seasons when O'Neill was appointed and did so. Now he wants the chance to play at the highest club level which is totally fair enough and Villa just can't get there. Feel sorry for the fans, but they have to realise sometimes players need to go up in their career, much like we did with Gazza, Waddle and Beardsley back in the day. Just shows how much football has changed over the years that returning players struggle to get warm welcomes when the come back. The sentiments are correct but the way he's going about it, is not. You don't go mouthing off to the Screws of the World, like a spoilt little brat, wanting the world to feel sorry for you and critcising your boss. But I do agree that he's given a nothing club like Villa tremendous service and is within his rights to want to better himself.
-
Truely a fantatic thread, keep them coming
-
I totally disagree, I think the bulk of the league will be fighting out for the top of the nothingness group. There are very few stand out relegation candidates at this point, outside the 3 promoted teams.
-
Well I think I have made my views clear on this in other threads. So I not repeat the same crap over again, just to say that, lets see some freakin action NUFC, 2 in and 6 out is hardly the position I would have expected us to be at, at this stage of the summer. Times ticking by.
-
Don't be fooled by that crap. Quite possible that his business venture up is not doing as well as was hoped but you don't turn around failing businesses by taking on another role which will take much or your time. You dedicate yourself to the failing buisiness or get out. KK will not be so short of a penny that he can't afford to walk out on principal, he's shown in the past that he's quite prepared to do that.
-
That's actally a very good point, KK is almost un sackable, unless things really screw up Ashley will alienate his customer base if he pulled the trigger. KK will stay as ong as he wants to IMO, which as I said above could be sooner than we think should he not receive the backing.

Gary Speed was also a winger when we signed him from Everton. Certainly remember him playing alot of games on the left of midfield for them, and iirc did so for us at the start before being switched over by Sir Bobby. Speed never truely was happy playing out on the left wing ever since he left Leeds. He started with us on the Left side, cos basically since Dalglish go rid of our world class winger, we had no one to fill that roll. Speed early days with us got a fair amount of stick from some very fickle fans, but really he was playing out of position, once he moved inside we saw what a quality player he was. Everton fans absolutely hate him though, I have no idea what went on there, they used to have a song for him "Oh Gary, Gary....Gary, Gary, Gary, Gary Shithouse Speed" Love Everton fans they're the best
-
So have we got his registration sorted out yet then ?
-
Wow is this official ? I take it all back we done a fantastic job this summer. Seriously though I wouldn't take Gudjonsen, in two minds about Reyes and Doyle would be over priced at 6.5mill IMO.
-
Thats what agents do you'd think he'd know that since he's been in football a while. I thought they where both selling up anyway. Birminghan Directors really piss me off, they always seem angry at something, never come over as anything other than obnoxious turds IMO. Not counting Karen Brady in that cos she used to be hot
-
Don't say that man, you're just pushing afar closer to the edge. I'm currently nowhere near any band members of U2, I don't know what you are talking about ? :boomboom: ........I'll get my coat
-
Sometimes I like to be And I'm fucking sick of the inaction of this pre season, a pre season where we had such a big job on our hands. Worried to hell that this apparent penny pinching by Ashley (and before anyone says anything, that's not because I read it in the paper, that's based on the lack of any evidence to the countary) will drive KK out and we'll be back to square one. The end of the world is nigh my friend ;P
-
KK said we are waiting for things to happen like a lot of other clubs. How much more do you want him to say? The reason we are not hearing anything is because the club has moved away from the wankers in the media and stopped leaking stories like the fat one used to. You'd better get used to it as it will be this way for a long time. Here we go again, another "Oh it's just the wonderful way we are doing business now" merchant. Fact of the matter is that we are somewhere close to 7 or 8 players short in numbers and the collective quality of those that we can field is average at best. There are less than four weeks to the start of the season and we've still got a huge amount of work to do. Action speaks louder than words, but all we are getting here is lack of action and lack of words. Your rant is misdirected. None of the "Oh it's just the wonderful way we are doing business now" merchants, as you put them, would deny we are short in quality and numbers. To attribute that attitude to them is disingenuous and incorrect. The "merchants" are just of the view that since 99.9999999% of everything the newspapers print is bollocks anyway that it doesn't matter if they're not saying anything about us and to not be concerned with the silence in the press, who, after all, had sweet f*** all of an inkling about gutierrez and only half of a tenth of an idea about guthrie. A tighter lid is being kept on things these days and so a lack of ridiculous player links is to be expected. That is all. Again, NO ONE who is unconcerned with the silence in the press thinks our squad is anywhere near where it should be. Then why keep ranting on about how it's great we don't talk to the press when anyone mentions that we are short on numbers and quality. It's got bugger all to do with that, I couldn't give a monkey's if they blabbed to the whole world or said nowt at all until they signed as long at the actually sign players !!! And I repeat Action speaks louder than words, but there has been no bloody action. Did I say I believe the papers, they always talk tohe truth ? If I did please point me in that direction. And how the hell can my rant be 'misdirected' when someone telling ME "it's just the way we do business now" crap. Crap that has been spouted so many times before Chill out dude, I think this is the first time i've had a discusion with you. So you cant accuse me of bashing you over the head with "this is the way we do business now" Did I mention your name, I called you part of the collective "head in the sand", "fingers in your ears, neeh, neeh, na, neeh, neeh, not listening" crowd.
-
Honestly do you guys just have a book of standrad responses to people who don't bury their heads in the sand ? We've had the: "It's great we don't talk to the papers anyone more line" Now we've got the "Show some patience" line, so what's next ? " Transfer window doesn't officially open till July 1st (oh wait that's past)" or the well "Ashley's paid off all OUR ?? debts" bit ?
